About metanew

Who runs this site

metanew! is operated and supervised by newgame Inc., a company that builds in the metaverse space. Drawing on its experience building and running metaverse platforms, newgame Inc. is responsible for everything from the design of the data we list, to how our ranking metrics are calculated, to how posts are reviewed.

How we collect data

Basic game information (title, developer, players online, rating, description and images) is fetched daily from the data Roblox publishes officially. We never edit those numbers by hand.

• Games listed — We crawl the official Roblox charts (20 countries) every day and add games that are newly getting attention
• Statistics — Players online, rating and visits are synced daily from official Roblox data
• Country charts — Each country's official chart order is updated daily at 14:15
• Codes — Collected from published primary sources, then checked against player votes on whether the code actually worked

How ratings and rankings work

Our ratings come from our own survey answered by players in Japan (whether a game works solo, how it plays on a phone, whether it is enjoyable for free, whether it can be played in Japanese, and so on). While the number of answers is small the figures swing easily, so we always show the count alongside them. Rankings are calculated from activity on metanew! such as views, play records and ratings, with a cap on how much repeated activity from the same user can count.

How posts are moderated

Because many of our users are minors, reviews, board posts and the like go through several layers of checking.

1. Checked as soon as it is posted — AI checks for personal information, contact details, abuse and inappropriate content. If nothing is found the post goes live at once; if AI cannot decide, publication is held
2. Regular re-checks — AI re-checks posts that are already public on a regular basis, and our team reviews and acts on what it finds
3. Flood and spam protection — Posting large amounts in a short time is limited automatically
4. How to report — You can report a problem post through Contact, and our team removes it after checking

Keeping people safe

• We do not offer private direct messages (every post is public)
• Posting anything that identifies a person — name, school, contact details — is not allowed
• We offer age-appropriate display modes (Normal View / Kids View) and furigana reading aids

Disclaimer

metanew! is not an official Roblox Corporation service. Roblox, Robux and related trademarks and content belong to their respective owners. We work to keep what we publish accurate, but it may be out of date after a game changes on its side.
