What happens when you get caught

If the brainrot catches you, the stage fails and you lose whatever you stole on that run. That is the only penalty — you do not lose health, items, or anything you already banked from earlier runs. Because retrying costs nothing beyond the loot you were carrying, you can attempt any stage as many times as you need to.
