Knife or Die drops 14 players onto a map with a single knife spawning in the center — whoever grabs it first can eliminate everyone else. This guide covers how to reach the knife, how to fight when you have it, and how to stay alive when you don't.

How a round works

Summary
In short Every round is a race to the center followed by a last-player-standing fight.

At the start of each round all 14 players are scattered across the map. The knife always spawns at the center, and only the player holding it can attack and eliminate others. When the knife holder eliminates someone, the knife drops where that player fell and anyone can pick it up. The round ends when one player is left standing.

  • Start all 14 players spawn spread out across the map
  • Race everyone sprints toward the center knife at the same time
  • Knife holder the only player who can attack and eliminate others
  • Drop the knife falls to the ground when its holder is eliminated
  • Winner the last surviving player wins the round and earns Cash

Reaching the knife first

Step
In short A direct, unbroken dash to the center is the single most important habit to build.

Because every player heads for the same spot at the same moment, hesitation costs you the knife. Dash can be used continuously, so there is no reason to let off the accelerator between your spawn point and the center.

  1. Move immediately the moment the round starts, head straight for the center without pausing
  2. Dash the whole way dash works continuously, so keep it active from spawn to the knife
04

Fighting with the knife

Tips
In short Constant movement and closing distance quickly are what keep you alive as the knife holder.

Holding the knife makes you the target everyone else is chasing, so standing still is the fastest way to lose it. Attack works by contact, which means you have to get close before swinging.

Tips worth knowing
  • Close the gap fast — your attack only works at short range, so approach before you swing
  • Use Lay Down to dodge — crouching lowers your profile and can help you avoid an incoming rush
05

Cash and knife skins

Check
In short Skins change how your knife looks but have no effect on how you play.

Winning rounds earns you Cash, which you spend on knife skins. Every skin is purely cosmetic — nothing you unlock changes your speed, attack range, or any other stat.

  • Earn Cash by winning rounds
  • Spend Cash to unlock knife skins
  • Multiple designs are available to choose from
  • No skin gives a gameplay advantage over another

FAQ

How many players are in each match?

Each map holds up to 14 players. All of them compete for the same single knife.

You drop out of that round.

Do skins make me stronger?

Can I attack without the knife?

No. Only the player currently holding the knife can eliminate others. Without it, your only option is to survive until you can pick it up.
