Your first minutes on the beach

- Look around rocks and trees on the beach are your first source of stone and wood.
- Craft a basic tool use the simplest available recipe to make a harvesting tool right away.
- Find new recipes as you collect resources, new crafting recipes become available to you.
Building and protecting your base
TipsYour base stores everything you have gathered and crafted, so losing it to a raid hurts badly. Pick a spot that is hard for enemies to reach, then build walls and defensive structures to slow anyone who tries to break in. You can expand the base as you progress.
- Choose a location that is hard for raiders to approach.
- Place walls and defensive structures to delay anyone trying to get inside.
- Store your resources inside the base.

Three types of enemies
TableThe map throws three distinct threats at you, and they each behave differently. Military NPCs are the most predictable since they appear in fixed locations. Bosses are dangerous but worth the risk. Other players are the wildcard.
| Military NPCs | spawn in set locations, making them easier to prepare for and good sources of weapons. |
| Bosses | much tougher than regular NPCs, but defeating one rewards you with valuable loot. |
Vehicles and map exploration
TipsThe map contains monuments and loot that are worth tracking down. Different vehicles suit different terrain, so having access to more than one gives you flexibility. Exploration also turns up new crafting recipes.
- Craft or find multiple vehicles so you can switch based on where you are going.
- Check the map for monument locations and make runs to them for loot.
- Keep an eye out for new crafting recipes while you are out exploring.
The weekly server reset
WarnYour base and items are saved to whichever server you last played on, but a full reset wipes all bases and player data every Friday at 3 PM EST. Joining a private server triggers a forced wipe immediately, separate from the weekly schedule.
