At the start of each round, players are split into two teams. The climber side searches the tower for gears and pushes toward the finish. The troll side exists purely to stop them. Roles swap between rounds, so over several games you will play both sides.

Playing as the troll
Tips
When you are on the troll side, your only objective is to keep climbers from finishing. You can hold key chokepoints in the tower, attack players directly, or grab gears before climbers can reach them. Multiple trolls working together to focus on a single climber is a legitimate strategy.
- Take up position in the tower where climbers must pass
- Work with other trolls to cut off a single climber at once
- Grabbing a gear before a climber does denies them the item
Coins and the shop
SummaryCoins accumulate as you play — finding gears and clearing rounds as a climber are the main ways to earn them. Take those coins to the shop and spend them on new gear. Because all gear is purchasable with coins earned in normal play, you can unlock everything without spending real money.

Roles are assigned automatically each round, so you do not pick one yourself. If you play multiple rounds you will end up on both sides.
