01

Your first few minutes

Step
In short Getting a tree into your plot as fast as possible is the only goal when you first load in.

Everything in TIMBER! flows from a simple loop: chop a tree, collect it, plant it in your plot, and let it earn coins per second while you go chop more. Timber Town is your starting hub — the shop, the enchanting station, and the ATV dealer are all here.

  1. Get an axe buy one from the Timber Town shop before doing anything else.
  2. Chop a tree equip the axe and swing at any nearby tree until it falls.
  3. Collect the tree it becomes an item you can carry in your hotbar.
  4. Place it in your plot select the tree from your hotbar and click an empty slot on your own plot.
  5. Watch the income each tree in your plot generates coins per second automatically, even while you are out chopping.
  6. Fill all twelve slots keep chopping until every slot is taken.

Getting around the map

Table

The map has seven biomes to explore. Knowing your movement options saves time every session.

Sprintingtriggers automatically about two seconds after you start walking, or instantly if you tap the forward key twice.
ATVcosts 500 sheckles, bought in Timber Town; mount and dismount with Q on keyboard or the on-screen button on mobile; roughly twice as fast as running.
Rampsscattered around the map; hitting one with the ATV launches you forward.
Boatspawns every one to two and a half hours and costs 100,000 sheckles per trip; used to reach separate islands.
03

Axe stats and what they do

Summary

Every axe has three stats.

  • Luck raises the chance of a mutation triggering and influences which mutation the tree receives.
  • Control determines how fast and forgiving the charge mini-game is; high Control makes hitting perfect swings easier.
  • Strength sets how much damage each swing deals.
04

Mutations and the Girdling method

Tips

Mutations are modifiers that change a tree's coins-per-second and appearance. Their multipliers add together first, then the total is applied to the tree's base income — so four mutations combine into one large multiplier rather than chaining separately. Each tree can hold up to four biome-specific mutations. Weather events can also add their own mutations to trees on the map and inside your plot.

Tips worth knowing
  • Hit a tree to raise its purple mutation-chance bar; when it fills, the next swing applies a random biome mutation.
  • Use the charge mini-game to earn a 1x–2x luck bonus on each swing, which pushes the bar up faster.
  • String together fifteen perfect swings to trigger a 2x luck buff that lasts ten seconds.
  • Keep all twelve plot slots filled so weather events mutate as many of your trees as possible.
  • Girdling: swing your main axe until the tree reaches 75% health, then switch to a weak axe that only deals 1 damage and hit until a mutation appears. Move back to your main axe, drop the tree to 50%, switch again, and repeat until all four mutations are stacked.
  • During Girdling, avoid chopping trees that a weather event has already mutated unless those weather mutations are not worth keeping, because weather mutations count toward the four-mutation cap for now.
05

Enchantments — slot builds

Step

Enchantments are crafted at the station in Timber Town using Essence, Levels, and Sheckles. You start with one slot; a second unlocks at level 20 and a third at level 50. Whatever you equip applies to every axe you own.

  1. Essence at level 5 gives you roughly one essence per four trees chopped when selling.
  2. Luck works multiplicatively, so it amplifies every other luck source you have.
  3. Sharpness raises damage and mutation count and is useful in nearly every situation.
  4. Gambler raises luck on average even though individual swings can roll low.
06

Beavers — chopping help and AFK farming

Tips

Beavers are pets that chop alongside you, gaining experience as they work and unlocking abilities as they age. You buy eggs from machines in Timber Town and Koi Lanterns; the price rises with each purchase. Feed beavers fruits — which drop from trees while chopping — to raise their age toward Kid, Teen, and Adult stages, each of which unlocks a new ability.

Tips worth knowing
  • Equip a high-level beaver, hit a tree once, then step back — the beaver will keep working and the Essence enchantment will collect drops for you.
  • Starfruit is the rarest fruit but grants 50 age points per piece; Berries are common but only give 1 point each.
  • The Veteran Beaver's Diamond Drop ability is the core of Gem Girdling — keep a tough tree alive with the Sturdy Beaver's Reinforce ability and farm gems.
  • The Sneaky Beaver's Cheat ability is the only way to increase your odds of landing rarer biome mutations such as Volcanic.
  • The Lucky Beaver's Treasurer ability can drop almost any item in the game, including Tier V potions and potion tokens.
  • You can stop your beaver from chopping by mounting the ATV, unequipping the beaver, or moving out of its range.
07

Machines on your plot

Warn

Machines are crafted at the Crafting Table on your plot, which costs nothing to repair and takes only a few seconds. After crafting, each machine must be constructed before it can be used, and construction takes anywhere from two to eight hours depending on the machine.

Worth watching out for
The Log Chipper costs five Oak Trees and constructs in two hours.
Do not feed the Extractor your best trees it strips all mutations from a tree when pulling essence.
The Splicer can move a biome-specific mutation from one tree to another, but every transfer has a chance of failure upgrade it to raise stability.
The Collector is the only machine that works offline and takes six hours and rare fruit to build.

Common questions

FAQ

How do I place a tree in my plot?

After chopping a tree down, it goes into your hotbar as an item. Select it, move to your plot, then click an empty slot — the tree will lock in and start earning c/s.

What should I spend my first enchantment slot on?

Put it on Essence and upgrade it to level 5 before touching anything else. At max level it averages one essence drop per four trees sold.

How do I get more Potion Tokens?

Each biome has one quest NPC who offers up to four quests before going on a ten-hour cooldown. Completing those quests awards Potion Tokens.

Does it matter which weather event is active?

Meteor Shower is the rarest event and applies a 5x Starstruck mutation with a 1.5x luck boost. Blizzard and Thunderstorm are common and add 2.5x mutations. Having a full twelve-tree plot during any weather event lets as many of your trees as possible receive the bonus mutation.
