Core rules in one round
StepThe game is strictly two players. One of you picks or is shown a number, and while that player searches for it, the other fills their page with marks. The moment the number is found, turns switch and the cycle repeats.
- Decide who searches first one player finds the number while the other marks their page with X's.
- Find the number the searching player scans the screen until they locate it.
- Mark the page the marking player fills in their page as the number is being found.
- Switch turns once the number is found, the two roles immediately swap.
- Complete your page the first player to fill their own page wins; if your opponent fills yours, you lose.
Playing the searching role well
TipsWhen you are the one hunting for the number, your only job is to find it as fast as possible. Talk to your partner while you search — the clearer your description of where the number is, the smoother the switch will be.
- Scan the whole screen to find the number quickly.
- Use clear landmarks when you describe the position so your partner can understand without asking follow-up questions.
- Call out the number's location the moment you spot it.
Playing the marking role well
WarnWhile your partner searches, you are marking your page. The danger here is accuracy — once a mark is placed, it stays. A rushed or misheard mark wastes a turn and puts you further behind. Ask a quick question if the instructions are unclear rather than guessing.
Building a win streak
CheckThe badges go all the way from a 3-game win streak up to 150 consecutive wins, so there is a long ladder to climb.
- Both players know which role they are in before each round starts.
- The searching player describes position clearly to the marking player.
- The marking player confirms location before placing, not guessing.
- Turns switch the moment the number is found.
Getting comfortable with both roles
SummaryPractising the role you find harder pays off quickly. Players who understand both sides communicate better and waste fewer turns.
- Searching trains fast visual scanning and clear spoken descriptions.
- Marking trains careful listening and precise, quick placement.
- Playing with the same partner repeatedly shared experience tightens both players' timing.

Common questions
FAQCan I play alone?
Find and Mark! is built for exactly two players, so you need an opponent to start a match. You can wait in the lobby for the game to find someone, or bring a friend along.
What happens if I mark the wrong spot?
Marks cannot be removed once placed, so a mistake stays on your page for the rest of the round. Confirm your partner's instructions before you commit to a placement.
How do I keep playing against the same person?
Add them to your friends list and join the lobby together. Playing repeatedly with the same partner also helps you build a shared rhythm that improves both of your roles.
