Getting started and the tutorial

Step

In short Finishing the tutorial first saves you a lot of confusion, especially now that sprinting uses stamina.

When you first load in, you get 10 Burgers automatically. A confirmation screen now appears before any Class, Trait, or Sack purchase, so you have time to think before spending. The tutorial has been updated to teach you the stamina and sprinting system, which is new as of the Archangel update.

Complete the tutorial it teaches you how to sprint and how stamina works before you need both in a real fight.
Accept your free Adventurer class this lets you switch between Adventurer and whatever class you roll later.
Roll your first class spend your starting 10 Burgers at the class roll screen.
Read the confirmation screen it appears when buying a Class, Trait, or Sack, so check before you click.

Where weapons come from

Table

In short Weapons in Dead Spells come from several distinct sources.

Some you find anywhere in the world, others require reaching a specific location or defeating a boss. Class-exclusive weapons only appear for characters of the matching class.

Found anywhere	Pitchfork, Sword, War Axe, Frost Shortsword, Gold Sword, and basic wands and healing staves drop in the open world.
Mushroom Village shop	Mushroom Swords in Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow variants are sold there.
Mushroom Village boss	defeating the boss can drop a Mushroom Hammer in any of the four colours.
Frost Knight Castle	the Fire Greatsword spawns nearby, the Frost Greatsword drops from the boss, and the Duality Sword is obtained through fusion.
Void Bosses	these drop high-end weapons including the Commander Viridian Bow, Commander Crimson Sword, Commander Cerulean Staff, and Void Reaper's Scythe.
Mysterious Wizard Shop and Wizard NPC drops	elemental staffs covering Nature, Dark, Frost, Fire, and Earth are sold or dropped here.

Classes and the Archangel unlock

Summary

In short There are 21 classes ranging from Common to Mythical, with Archangel sitting above them all as a Transcendent option.

You roll your first class with starting Burgers, and every class sits on a rarity scale from Common up to Mythical. Adventurer is free and always available as a fallback. Archangel is the newest addition — it is a Transcendent class beyond the normal rarity tiers.

Vampire Mansion and harder areas

In short The Vampire Mansion has been reworked with stronger enemies.

The Vampire Mansion received a full rework in the version 2.2.0 update. New Undead enemies were added and existing Undead and Vampiric enemies were buffed.

Worth watching out for

New Undead types appear inside expect enemy patterns you have not seen in earlier areas.

Using cheats or exploits anywhere in the game risks a permanent ban the developers enforce this strictly.

Lizards: enemies, pets, and quest targets

Tips

In short Lizards serve several purposes depending on their rarity, and the two rarest ones complete a quest.

Lizards appear throughout the world and are passive — they do not attack and will not fight back. Common grey and green lizards appear near streets in small groups. Rarer lizards are worth hunting for cash or quest completion.

Tips worth knowing

Common lizards (grey and green) appear in groups of four to seven near streets.
The purple lizard is Epic rarity, found caged in the Thief's Hideout, and sells for a notably good amount.
The pink lizard is also Epic rarity.
The golden lizard is Legendary.
Killing a Diamond or Ruby lizard — both Mythical — completes the Exotic Hunter quest and rewards 150 Burgers.
Any lizard can be used as fuel.

Account safety and data problems

Check

In short Cheating leads to a permanent ban, and the only fix for data loss is a ticket in the community server.

The game has a clear set of rules around fair play. Breaking them removes your access for good. If something goes wrong with your save data, there is an official way to report it.

Never exploit or use cheats the developers can permanently ban your account.
If you lose data, open a ticket in the community server that is the official channel for save issues.

Glossary

Burgers: The main in-game currency, earned by killing enemies or claiming redeem codes, used to buy classes, traits, and sacks.
Stamina: An energy bar introduced in version 2.2.0 that depletes when you sprint and must recharge before you can sprint again.
Sprint: A short burst of faster movement that costs stamina, taught in the tutorial.
Transcendent class: A tier of class above Mythical, currently represented by Archangel alone.
Trait: A purchasable character modifier.
Fusion: A crafting method at Frost Knight Castle that combines items to create a new weapon, such as the Duality Sword.
Mr. Lizard: An NPC in the game world where you type and claim redeem codes.

Common questions

FAQ

What happens if a redeem code does not work?

Check that you are on an updated server — outdated servers can cause codes to fail. Also confirm the code has not expired, since some codes become unavailable after a set period.

My save data disappeared. What do I do?

Open a ticket in the game's official community server. That is the only supported way to report and recover data loss.

How do I get the Exotic Hunter quest reward?

Kill either a Diamond or a Ruby lizard — both are Mythical rarity. Doing so completes the Exotic Hunter quest and pays out 150 Burgers.
