Arcane Lineage is a dark-fantasy turn-based RPG on Roblox where you level up a character, unlock classes, and fight enemies in encounters that grow harder as you progress. This guide covers the controls, how battles work, and how the class system fits together so you can keep moving forward.
In shortGetting the controls into muscle memory before your first real fight saves a lot of frustration later.
Every important action in Arcane Lineage maps to a key, and knowing them upfront means you won't be hunting around during a tough encounter. The space bar is especially critical because the blocking quick-time event gives you very little time to react.
QDash to move faster or close distance in exploration.
SpaceTriggers quick-time events, including blocks and dodges during battle.
B or Tilde (`)Opens your inventory and status menu so you can review gear and stats.
MMeditate at a mat.
Left CtrlDisplays location icons on the map to help you navigate.
In shortKnowing every option on your turn is important during combat.
Fights trigger randomly while you walk through areas that can spawn enemies. On roads, the encounter tier drops by one. When your turn comes around, you have five choices.
AttackChoose a skill to use against an enemy.
ItemUse something from your inventory, such as a Health Potion.
MeditateSkip your turn to gain 1 Energy, but you take 50% more damage from attacks that turn.
GuardReduces incoming damage by 75% for the next hit and can cancel some attack effects.
EscapeAttempts to flee the fight; base success rate is 20%, and higher Speed improves your chances.

In shortWhere the line lands determines what happens when an enemy attacks.
When an enemy attacks, a white line sweeps left to right across a bar. You click or press space to react. Putting Stat Points into Speed widens the colored zones, making the timing easier. Not every attack can be blocked or dodged.
Yellow zoneYou dodge completely and take zero damage, with no effects applied.
Red zoneYou block and take 50% of the hit's damage; some attack effects are also cancelled.
Grey zoneYou miss the block and take the full hit with all effects.

Encounter tiers and how level affects them
Table
In shortYour level directly controls how many enemies appear at once, so knowing the tier thresholds tells you when a zone is about to get much harder.
Encounters are grouped into six tiers that describe how many enemies — and how dangerous they are — appear together. In Normal Mode the tier climbs gradually, but Hard and Legendary Modes push you into multi-enemy fights much sooner. Tier 6 requires you to be in a party; you cannot enter those encounters alone.
Normal, levels 1–4
Tier 1: one enemy.

Status effects in combat
Tips
In shortStatus effects stack damage and penalties fast.
Enemies can inflict status effects on you, and your skills can do the same to them. Bosses take only one-tenth the usual damage from status effects.
Tips worth knowing
Poison drains 2% of max HP each turn.
Burn drains 1% of max HP each turn.
Bleed drains 3% of max HP each turn.
Ghostflame drains 5% of max HP each turn.
Vulnerable raises all damage you take by 20%.
Weakened cuts your outgoing damage by 30%.
Hexed doubles all damage you take, and stacks only clear when you are hit.
Blind lowers speed and adds two more inputs for quick-time events.
Stunned cancels your turn and stops you from blocking or dodging; one stack clears each time you are hit or your turn is skipped.
Heavy Stunned cancels your turn and stops you from blocking or dodging; one stack clears only when your turn is skipped.
Crippled lowers your Speed and stops you from escaping.
Cursed heavily reduces or cancels any healing you receive.
07
The class system from base to super
Step
In shortPicking your base class locks you into a weapon type.
Classes unlock in two main stages after you start playing. Your base class sets your weapon and acts as a prerequisite; your super class defines your real playstyle. Sub classes sit on top of both and add extra utility without replacing either.
Reach level 5then talk to one of the five base-class trainers: Warrior, Thief, Slayer, Martial Artist, or Wizard. Each uses a different weapon type.
Equip the right weapon and pay the training feethe trainer will not register you otherwise.
Reach level 15 and choose a super classthree paths exist for each base class: Chaotic, Neutral, and Orderly.
Unlock your pathOrderly and Chaotic paths require specific quests; the Neutral path skips quests but costs more gold.
Reach level 23 to learn all abilities in your super class.
Add a sub class at any pointsub classes are independent and grant side abilities such as extra potion uses in battle or out-of-combat healing.

Common questions
FAQ
Why am I facing so many enemies at once?
The number of enemies in a fight scales with your level. In Normal Mode, you start seeing three or more enemies per encounter once you hit level 10, and four or more from level 15 onward. Encounters on roads drop one tier, so you face fewer or weaker enemies.
Do I have to do quests to get a good class?
It depends on the path you want. The Neutral super class for each base class requires no quests but costs more gold. Chaotic and Orderly paths require you to complete specific quests and build the right alignment first.
What does investing in Speed actually do?
Speed improves two things at once: it increases your chance of successfully escaping an encounter, and it makes the yellow and red zones on the blocking bar wider, giving you more time to react.
