About

Overview

Oil Empire is a tycoon game where you drill for crude oil, refine it into gasoline, and sell it at the highest price you can get. You can grow your operation quietly in the background or go after other players with sabotage. This guide walks you through starting out, building a production line that actually works, and timing your sales to earn as much as possible.

01

Your first production line

Step
In short Getting one complete drill-to-sale loop running is the only goal that matters when you first load in.

The game guides you through the basics at the start, but the core loop is simple: place a drill, connect it to a refinery, and sell the gasoline that comes out. Until that chain is complete you will not earn anything. Once cash starts coming in, put it straight back into upgrades rather than sitting on it.

  1. Place a drill this is the start of everything; without it no oil gets pulled out of the ground.
  2. Add a refinery oil by itself cannot be sold; the refinery turns it into gasoline you can actually cash out.
  3. Sell your gasoline complete the loop by selling, and watch the first cash hit your account.
  4. Redeem a code enter a code in the Settings menu before you do anything else; the rewards make the early game much easier.
  5. Reinvest immediately spend your first earnings on upgrades straight away rather than letting cash sit idle.

02

Where to spend your upgrades first

Tips
In short Upgrading your refinery before adding more drills keeps cash flowing steadily instead of letting raw oil pile up unused.

A common early mistake is buying extra drills before the refinery can keep up. If oil pours in faster than the refinery processes it, you end up with a backlog and no extra gasoline to sell. Get refinery processing speed to a comfortable level first, then expand your drilling operation. Once automation is in place, the line keeps producing even when you step away.

Tips worth knowing
  • Upgrade refinery processing speed before you add a second drill.
  • After refining is stable, add more drills to push more oil into the pipeline.
  • Set up automation so the line keeps running when you are not actively playing.
  • Check the leaderboard to see how top players have structured their operations and use that as a target.
03

Timing your sales around the market price

Warn
In short Selling gasoline when the price is low throws away money that patience would have kept.

Gasoline prices shift constantly, and selling at the wrong moment is the easiest way to earn less than you should. The right habit is to stockpile when prices are down and unload your inventory in one go when they climb. Keep the refinery running the whole time so your stockpile grows while you wait. Once you get a feel for the rhythm of price swings, a single well-timed sale can dwarf what a dozen impatient ones would have made.

Worth watching out for
Do not sell when the price is low hold the gasoline in inventory instead.
Keep refining throughout the wait so stock builds up steadily.
Sell the whole stockpile at once when the price peaks for maximum return.
04

PvP and sabotage — attacking and recovering

Table
In short Whether you play aggressively or focus on automation comes down to your goals, but either way you need to know how sabotage works.

The game has a sabotage mechanic that lets players disrupt each other's production lines. You can ignore it entirely and grow your empire at your own pace, or use it actively to slow down rivals on the leaderboard. If you get hit, find the affected equipment and get it back online quickly.

Idle-focused stylesteady income growth, no confrontation, good if you want to automate and step back
Aggressive sabotage styletargets leaderboard rivals directly, suits players who enjoy PvP competition
Balanced stylebuild first, sabotage only once your own operation is strong enough to absorb retaliation
05

Redeem codes and what they give you

Step
In short Codes are worth using the moment you start because the free cash and drill packs they hand out shrink a painful early resource gap.

Codes hand out free cash and drill packs at no cost, which is a genuine advantage in the early game when money is tight. Each code can only be redeemed once per account, and some codes expire, so use them as soon as you find them. As of September 28, 2026, there are three working codes tracked for this game — check the code section of this page for the current list.

  1. Open the game launch Oil Empire in Roblox.
  2. Open Settings tap the Settings icon on the left side of the screen.
  3. Find the code box there is a text field inside the Settings panel specifically for codes.
  4. Type the code carefully capitalisation matters, so copy it exactly.
  5. Press Claim your cash or drill pack reward appears in your account right away.

Troubleshooting a stuck production line

Check
In short Most slowdowns come from one bottleneck in the chain, and running through this list will find it.

If cash stops growing or growth feels slower than it should, the problem is almost always a single choke point between the drill and the sale. Work through each stage in order before changing anything else.

  • Confirm drills are placed and running no drilling means no oil at all.
  • Check the refinery is not overwhelmed too much incoming oil and too little processing capacity causes a backlog.
  • Make sure you are actually selling holding gasoline forever while waiting for a higher price can leave storage maxed out.
  • Look for unused codes a free drill pack or cash boost can immediately fix an early resource shortage.
  • Review upgrade order if you added drills before upgrading the refinery, flip the priority and level up refining first.

Common questions

FAQ

Can I earn money while I am offline?

Once automation is set up, drilling and refining keep going on their own even when you are not in the game. Selling, though, is something you decide when to do, so it is worth logging back in to check the market price and cash out at a good moment.

What should I upgrade first?

Upgrade your refinery's processing speed before you add more drills. Adding drills without a faster refinery just creates a pile of unprocessed oil that earns you nothing. Once refining keeps up comfortably, then expand your drilling.

Someone sabotaged me — what now?

Find whichever equipment was knocked offline and restart it to get your production line moving again.

Can I reach the top of the leaderboard without spending real money?

Yes — the core production, refining, and selling cycle is fully available without any purchases. Redeeming codes for free cash and drill packs, then timing your sales for market peaks, gives you a real shot at competing with anyone on the leaderboard.
