First steps when you spawn

Check
In short Getting your bearings in the first minute is the difference between an early death and a real run.

The moment you load in, animatronics begin moving around the pizzeria. Your first goal is simply to survive one minute and earn the Survivor badge. Use that opening window — while SpringFoxy is still docile — to learn the layout before things heat up.

  • Locate the lockers note where they are on the map so you can reach one fast when an animatronic closes in.
  • Find the Music Box check whether its bar is already draining; if it is, someone needs to wind it soon.
  • Spot the power box repairing it earns you the Power Restored badge, so mark its location early.
  • Keep an eye on your FazCoins total you spend them at the shop on gear, so know what you have.

Survival time milestones

Table
In short Each milestone is a concrete goal to aim for, and the jump from 30 minutes to one hour is the hardest stretch.

How each animatronic behaves

Table
In short Knowing each animatronic's pattern lets you react instead of panic.

There are seven animatronics in the pizzeria. The ones with wiki entries have distinct mechanics worth understanding before you run into them.

Puppetstays in the Music Box until the bar hits zero, then hunts anyone nearby including William Afton; she is the one animatronic that does not ignore William Afton.
SpringFoxy (Foxy)docile for a few minutes at server start, then uses Speed Blitz to lunge at a random player one to four times; a flashlight cannot stun Foxy during Speed Blitz.
William Afton (Springtrap)controlled by another player, not the game; lockers offer no protection against him.
04

Keeping the Music Box wound

Step
In short Winding the Music Box at the right moment protects everyone and earns you bonus FazCoins.

The Music Box bar drains on its own over time. If it hits zero, Puppet leaves her box and attacks players until she eventually returns. Once she is back, there is a 15 to 20 minute cooldown before the bar starts draining again.

  1. Time a big wind for the 25% mark if the bar is at 25% or below and you wind it all the way to 100%, you receive 15 FazCoins as a reward.
  2. Stay clear after Puppet releases she has a 6-second attack cooldown but will keep hunting; put distance between yourself and her until she goes back.
05

Playing as William Afton

Step
In short William Afton is powerful but not untouchable — Puppet will still come for you.

The Springtrap suit spawns in random spots around the map, or you can access it with Robux. Once you put it on, every animatronic except Puppet ignores you completely.

  1. Use tracking first activate your tracking ability to highlight any players within range before moving in; the cooldown is 6 seconds, so use it consistently.
  2. Close in with the knife your knife has no significant cooldown, so once you have a player spotted you can press the attack without waiting.
  3. Avoid Puppet she is the one animatronic that will target you; if she leaves her box, keep your distance.
  4. Repeat the tracking cycle every 6 seconds, pulse tracking again to stay updated on where survivors are hiding.
06

Other things worth doing

Check

Some badges are tied to specific events rather than survival time.

  • Repair the power box it earns you the Power Restored badge.
  • Get betrayed the Betrayed badge triggers when another player betrays you.
  • Find a developer in-game the Meet the Developer badge is awarded when you encounter one; you can talk to them or just say hi.

Common questions

FAQ

Is William Afton safe from every animatronic?

Almost. Every animatronic ignores William Afton except Puppet — she will attack him just like she attacks survivors. If Puppet leaves her box while you are playing as William Afton, treat her as a serious threat and stay away.

Can I hide from another player who is William Afton?

No — lockers only protect you from animatronics controlled by the game. William Afton is played by another person, and the locker mechanic does not stop them from reaching you.

What should I do at the very start of a server?

SpringFoxy stays docile for a few minutes after a server launches. Use that time to find the lockers, locate the Music Box, and spot the power box before Foxy starts actively hunting.

Does the flashlight work against Foxy?

A flashlight cannot stun SpringFoxy while Foxy is performing a Speed Blitz.
