First steps in the test chamber
StepThe moment you load in, two locations matter most: the armory and wherever the hazmat suit is stored. Reading the parasite encyclopedia in the chamber will also tell you what you are about to face.
- Read the encyclopedia find the parasite encyclopedia inside the test chamber and read it to learn how each parasite behaves before one reaches you.
- Suit up try on the hazmat suit as soon as you locate it.
- Visit the armory head to the armory and equip a weapon so you have a way to fight back against infected players and parasites.
- Grab the MG42 if the MG42 is available in the armory, pick it up.
- Find the coffee a Cup of Coffee can be picked up somewhere in the test chamber.
Parasite types and what they do to you
TableFour distinct parasite types appear in the chamber. Their effects range from standard infection to full loss of control, heavy bite damage, and aerial attacks.
| Infant Parasite | infects you on contact, putting you into an infected state |
| Puppeteer Parasite | infects you and takes control of your actions rather than simply infecting you |
| Brood Lord | bites you for heavy damage rather than infecting you outright |
| Flyer Parasite | attacks from the air |
Hazards that have nothing to do with parasites
WarnNot everything trying to kill you in the chamber is a parasite. The test chamber itself contains an electric gate that ends your run on contact. On top of that, players who have already been infected are also a threat, not just the parasites roaming loose.
Taking on the Acolyte
CheckDefeating the Acolyte is one of the hardest things to accomplish in the game. The room holds up to 20 players at once, which means you have the option to tackle this boss with others rather than alone. Before you engage, run through this checklist.
- A weapon is equipped from the armory preferably the MG42 if you have it.
- A protective suit is on either the hazmat suit or the Exo Suit.
- At least one other player is willing to fight alongside you.
What infection actually changes
TipsInfection flips your role in the chamber. The type of parasite that reaches you determines exactly what happens next.
- An Infant Parasite infection puts you in a basic infected state, mutating your abilities.
- A Puppeteer Parasite infection goes further — it takes control of you, which is a different situation from simply being infected.
- After infection, you can turn against other players rather than cooperating with them.
- The game is in open alpha, so new parasite types and features are added regularly.

Common questions
FAQWhat happens if a parasite infects me?
It depends on which parasite reaches you. An Infant Parasite puts you in an infected state and mutates your abilities, while a Puppeteer Parasite takes direct control of you. Either way, you can end up fighting against other players instead of alongside them.
Where do I find weapons and protective gear?
Weapons, including the MG42, come from the armory inside the test chamber. The hazmat suit and Exo Suit are also located in the chamber.
Do I have to fight the Acolyte alone?
No — the room supports up to 20 players at once, so you can coordinate with others before engaging.
Is it worth touching the electric gate on purpose?
Only if you specifically want the Electrified badge. The gate kills you instantly on contact.
