Core survival actions
TipsEvery round drops you into the Backrooms with up to 49 other players while Captain Clark, Verity, and The Locust hunt you down. Your first instinct should be to put distance between yourself and whichever monster is close. When you spot a prop on the ground, you can grab it and throw it at a monster to ragdoll them and buy yourself time. Every few minutes a new event fires off and changes the situation, so stay alert even when the area seems quiet.
- Run and hide — put distance between yourself and any monster chasing you
- Props — grab objects from the floor and throw them to ragdoll a monster
- Events — new chaos triggers every few minutes, so keep moving
- Tools — unlock these with HussPoints to fight back more effectively
- Up to 50 players share the same session
The three monsters and how they behave
TableCaptain Clark, Verity, and The Locust each hunt players. Clark has one known quirk worth remembering: if you stare at his painting for too long, he reacts badly. Because all three can be active in the same session, pay attention to which one has spotted you before deciding how to move.

Earning HussPoints and leveling up
StepHussPoints are the game's currency, and you earn them simply by walking around the Backrooms. Spend them in the shop to unlock tools that make fighting back much easier. Leveling up comes from putting in time and eliminating monsters. The badge milestones give you clear goals to aim for: level 5, 10, 15, 30, 50, 75, 100, 125, and 150. Start with level 5 as your first target and work upward from there. The game also hands out Playtime Gifts as you hit certain time thresholds.

- Visit the shop spend your HussPoints on tools
- Set a level target aim for level 5 first, then 10, 15, and so on up to 150

Playing as a monster with the morph feature
TipsThe morph feature lets you take on the appearance and role of Captain Clark or Verity. Playing as Clark earns the Captain of Chaos badge, playing as Verity earns the Unleash Verity badge, and playing as The Locust earns the Release the Locust badge — each is awarded the first time you play that character.
- Play as Clark at least once to unlock the Captain of Chaos badge
- Play as Verity to unlock the Unleash Verity badge
- Play as The Locust to unlock the Release the Locust badge
- The Boiled One and Fredbear each have their own entry badges too
Hidden secrets worth finding
CheckSomewhere in the map there is a secret tunnel tucked inside the Poolrooms area. Finding it unlocks the Secret Poolrooms Tunnel badge, so explore corners and side passages rather than sticking to the main routes. The second secret involves Clark's painting — if you stand in front of it and stare for long enough, the game awards the 'You can't look at him...' badge.
- Search the Poolrooms area carefully for a hidden tunnel entrance
- Find Clark's painting on the map and stare at it until the badge triggers
