Tool and armor tiers
Tips
Tools and armor both follow the same five tiers. Every tier can be crafted into the same four armor pieces (helmet, chestplate, pants, boots) and the same four tool types (axe, pickaxe, shovel, hoe) plus a sword. Leather armor exists as a separate set outside this tier system.
- Wooden — Basic starter tools.
- Stone
- Iron
- Golden — Same effectiveness as Amethyst, reduced durability.
- Amethyst — Strongest and rarest tier.

Food and healing
TipsHold right-click to eat any food item. Because food stops working above 8 health points, you need to take some damage first before it does anything.
- Regenberries are the only food that heals over time — they provide a 4-second healing effect.
- Cooking raw patty or raw sausage in a furnace raises their healing from 2 to 5 health points each.
- Bread crafted from three wheat restores 4 points.
- Mango and avocado each restore 4 points, the highest of any food you cannot craft.
- Apples drop from oak leaves; cherries from birch leaves; bananas from jungle leaves — break leaves without shears to get them.
- Panacea restores 5 points and can be found in chests near ruined portals.
Structures and what to loot
CheckEach structure has specific loot and enemies. Some items only appear in one structure, so knowing where to go saves a lot of searching.
- Visit a Village early chests contain arrows and sticks.
- Find Portal Ruins the chest there contains Crimson Stones, which you need to build a portal to the Underworld.
- Clear the Bastion the third-floor chest always has amethyst, a Crimson Spirit, and Regenectar; the hidden first-floor chest always has hide, an iron sword, sulfur, arrows, and an apple.
- Check the 3 Towered Arena you can pick up amethyst and souls here; skeletons can be found in the towers.
- Take on the Olmec Temple it spawns in the sky with four rooms each holding a spawner; defeating the Olmec Golem drops the Olmec Hammer.
- Enter the Underworld once your portal is active, you will face ghouls and the multi-phase boss Tormentor; ghouls deal 4 hearts per hit.
Getting amethyst
Tips
Amethyst is the strongest ore in the game and opens up the top tier of tools and armor. There are several ways to get it.
- Mine at the very bottom of the world underground — that is where amethyst appears.
- Check floating islands — some of them contain amethyst deposits.
- Loot the Bastion — the third-floor chest always contains one amethyst.
- Search the Tormentor shrine — a chest on the right side of the room beneath the Tormentor spawn point holds one amethyst.
- Trade with a Trader — give a gold block and there is a chance the trader drops amethyst.
Realms and private worlds
SummaryRealms are private server instances you can invite others into. As the owner you can kick or ban players and shut the Realm down.
- Realm a private server with its own world separate from public servers.
- Invite code the way friends join your specific Realm.
- Owner controls kick, ban, and shutdown are available to the Realm creator.
Ascension and leaderboards
SummaryOnce you have gathered enough amethyst you can Ascend, which acts as a rebirth. Your inventory clears, but your Rebirths count grows permanently. Leaderboards track four stats across all players, and the top three in each category appear in-game wearing a crown.
- Ascension trigger accumulate enough amethyst, then choose to Ascend.
- Inventory reset everything in your inventory is cleared on Ascension.
- Rebirths count increases by one each time you Ascend and never resets.
- Leaderboard categories blocks mined, blocks placed, mob kills, and playtime.
- Crown worn in-game by the top 3 players in any leaderboard category.

Glossary- Realm
- A private server instance you create and control, with its own world that saves your builds.
- Tier
- The five levels of tool and armor strength: Wooden, Stone, Iron, Golden, and Amethyst.
- Crimson Spirit
- A rare item found in the Bastion's third-floor chest.
- Crimson Stone
- The key material needed to build a portal to the Underworld, found in Portal Ruins chests.
- Ascension
- A rebirth system that resets your inventory in exchange for a permanent increase to your Rebirths count.
- Tormentor
- The multi-phase boss that lives in the Underworld, guarded by ghouls.
- Regenberry
- The only food item that heals over time, providing a 4-second healing effect.
- Hotbar
- The row of item slots at the bottom of the screen; the selected item briefly shows its name above the HUD.
Common questions
FAQHow do I get to the Underworld?
You need to build and activate a portal. Crimson Stones are found in the Portal Ruins chest. The Crimson Spirit is guaranteed in the Bastion's third-floor chest. Souls from the 3 Towered Arena are also used in the portal process.
Why is food not restoring my health?
Food only works when your health is at or below 8 points. If you are above that threshold, you need to take some damage first before eating will do anything.
What is the difference between Golden and Amethyst tools?
Both tiers perform equally well for mining and combat. The difference is durability — Golden tools have reduced durability compared to Amethyst ones.
What happens to my items when I Ascend?
Your entire inventory is wiped on Ascension. In return, your permanent Rebirths count goes up by one.
