In short The game gives you three paths to take: police officer, criminal, or civilian.

The game gives you three paths to take: police officer, criminal, or civilian. Each one puts you in the same city but with a different reason to be there.

Police officer	uphold order and respond to criminal activity around the city
Criminal	engage in conflict and pursue objectives on the wrong side of the law
Civilian	explore the city and roleplay without taking a direct side in the fighting

In short The whole city is a combat zone, which means enemies can appear from directions you are not watching.

Scan for nearby enemies the moment you spawn do not stand still
Pick fights against single opponents until you are comfortable with the controls
Move away from a spot immediately after winning a fight
Look for teammates nearby and stick close enough to help each other

Glossary

PvP: Player versus player — combat between two real people rather than against a computer-controlled enemy.
Spawn: The point on the map where your character appears at the start of a session or after being eliminated.
RK: Random killing — attacking other players without any roleplay reason, which the game discourages.
RP: Roleplay — acting within the context of your chosen role, such as policing the streets as an officer or committing crimes as a criminal.
