How character building actually works
SummaryThere is no class screen to fill out when you start. Your character's direction comes entirely from the talents you pick and the weapon you have equipped. With over 100 talents available, two players can reach the same level and play almost nothing alike. Weapons add another layer because each one rolls random affixes, meaning no two pieces of gear are ever identical. Buffs and curses can interact and cancel each other, so finding a combination that suits your rhythm matters as much as raw numbers.
- Talents over 100 to choose from, shaping your abilities and playstyle
- Weapons carry random prefixes and suffixes, so every drop is unique
- Classes none; growth direction is set by talents and equipped weapons only
- Buffs and curses multiple effects interact and can counter each other in combat
Progression milestones to aim for
CheckThe developers built six official badges that map out a natural progression path. Hitting Level 20 is the first real checkpoint, confirming you have moved past the very beginning. From there, Level 80 is the next major target. The endgame badge for exceeding 100,000 Gear Score shows that the game expects you to invest heavily in equipment refinement at the top end.
- Reach Level 20 to clear the first milestone the developers recognize
- Push to Level 80 as your mid-game target
- Accumulate 10 hours of AFK time the game counts this and awards it
- Aim for a Gold Transmog once you have the coins or materials to afford one
- Obtain the Carrot Sword if you want to complete the full badge set
- Exceed 100,000 Gear Score as the ultimate endgame goal
Reaching level 100 before endgame crafting
WarnLevel 100 is a hard requirement before you start pouring rare stones into your gear. At max level, the base Skill Level of your equipment is fully maximized, which pushes all your attribute scores to their highest possible values.
Buying weapon crates from the Merchant
StepEndgame gear crafting starts at the Merchant, where you buy Weapon Equipment Crates. Each crate costs 29,800 coins and drops a random weapon, so your total spending depends entirely on RNG. At Level 100 there are seven weapons in the loot pool.
- Talk to the Merchant find them in the game world and open the shop interface
- Buy a Weapon Equipment Crate each one costs 29,800 coins
- Open the crate the weapon inside is random, and the pool has seven options at Level 100
- Check the Base ATK if it is not the highest you can get, buy another crate
Materials needed for endgame forging
CheckForging a godly weapon at endgame consumes many different types of stones. Reforge Stones and their directional variants, Enchant Stones at multiple tiers, Supreme Fort Stones, Enhance Stones, Extract Stones, Reroll Stones, and at least one Divine Stone are all part of the process. Get Reforge Stones+ from the Weekend Store or the Furnace. The quantities needed vary depending on which weapon you are refining, so treat the list below as a minimum starting point.
- Reforge Stone+ quantity varies by weapon; pick up from the Weekend Store or Furnace
- Supreme Fort Stone x20 or more
- Supreme Enhance Stone x3 or more
- Supreme Enchant Stone x30 or more, plus Greater Enchant Stone x100 or more
- Reforge Stone x200 or more, Reforge Stone Left x100 or more, Reforge Stone - Right x40 or more
- Extract Stone x100 or more (Left x40, Right x40), Reroll Stone x20 or more, and at least one Divine Stone
Locking affixes to protect your progress
TipsEvery weapon rolls random affixes, and rerolling or reforging can overwrite ones you already like. The game lets you lock an affix in place so it cannot be replaced, rerolled, or removed during any further refinement step.
- Lock the first affix you are happy with immediately, before doing anything else to the weapon
- A locked affix survives reforges, rerolls, and refinement steps without being changed
Alpha status and staying current
WarnCursed Blade is still in alpha, with updates shipping every week. Stats, costs, and mechanics described anywhere — including here — can change after an update drops.

Common questions
FAQDo I need to pick a class when I start?
There are no classes in this game. Your character's direction is determined entirely by the talents you select and the weapon you have equipped.
When should I start forging endgame gear?
Wait until you have reached Level 100 before spending any high-tier materials. At max level your equipment's Skill Level is fully maxed.
How do I stop a good affix from being overwritten?
Lock the affix as soon as it appears. A locked affix cannot be replaced or removed by any reroll or reforge action.
How many weapons can I roll from a crate at Level 100?
At Level 100 the loot pool contains seven possible weapons. Because the drop is random, how many crates you need to get the weapon you want will vary.
