The basic gameplay loop

Step
In short Every session follows the same cycle: cast, catch, place, earn, and repeat.

The whole game runs on a single loop. You cast your rod, reel in a fish, place it on your island, and that fish starts generating money for you. That money buys better rods, which let you catch rarer fish, which earn even more money.

  1. Cast your rod to start a catch attempt.
  2. Place caught fish on your island every fish you place begins producing money.
  3. Collect your earnings money from placed fish funds your next upgrade.

Upgrading your rod

Tips
In short A better rod lets you cast farther, and farther casts reach rarer fish.

Your starting rod can only reach so far. Spending your island earnings on a new rod extends your casting distance, and the fish in farther water tend to be rarer. Training your fishing skills also contributes to how far you can cast.

Tips worth knowing
  • Buy a new rod to extend your casting distance.
  • Train your fishing skills to cast further.

Shark encounters

Warn
In short A shark will try to steal your fish, so act the moment you see the warning.

Sharks appear while you are fishing and will go for your catch if you do not respond. When a warning shows on screen, you have two options: run or fight back. Either way, the goal is to keep the shark from taking your fish.

Worth watching out for
Watch for the on-screen warning that is your signal to act.
Decide whether to escape or fight; both options can protect your fish.
05

Building your island income

Check
In short More placed fish, especially rare ones, means more money coming in over time.

Every fish you place on your island keeps earning money as long as it is there. Rarer fish produce more money than common ones. Placing duplicates of the same fish still adds to your total income.

  • Fill your island's available space with caught fish.
  • Place duplicates rather than ignoring them, because each copy adds its own income.

Common questions

FAQ

Do fish on my island ever disappear?

Fish you have placed on your island stay there and keep earning money, as long as a shark has not stolen them.

Is it worth catching a fish I already have?

Yes. Placing multiple copies of the same fish each add their own income to your island, so catching duplicates is never wasted.
