How a round works

Step
In short The moment the lights return is when everything is decided.

Each round starts with one player being chosen at random as the Poison. From there, the sequence is the same every time — darkness, movement, then a reveal.

  1. Lights go out everyone starts moving, including the Poison, who leaves an invisible trail across the floor.
  2. Run blind while the arena is dark, nobody can see where the Poison has been, so there is no safe spot you can be sure of.
  3. Lights come on the Poison's trail is revealed across the ground.
  4. Elimination any player standing on part of that trail is knocked out of the round immediately.
  5. Wait it out if you are eliminated, you sit out for the rest of that round and rejoin when the next one begins.
  6. Last one standing wins the goal is simply to still be alive when the round ends.

Staying alive as a regular player

Tips
In short React fast the instant the lights return.

Because you cannot see the trail while the lights are off, your positioning choices in the dark are what keep you safe. The moment the lights come on, you need to react immediately.

Tips worth knowing
  • The second the lights turn on, check your feet — if you are standing on a trail, move off it as fast as possible.
  • Watch the Poison's movement pattern after you are eliminated so you can predict better in the next round.
03

Playing as the Poison

Check
  • Mix straight lines with sharp turns so your path is harder to predict.
  • Avoid retracing the same route ground you already walked does not help you eliminate anyone new.
04

Fair play

Warn
In short Keep the game enjoyable for everyone by following basic conduct rules.

Poison Path is a shared experience with up to twelve players, and how you behave affects everyone else in the lobby.

Worth watching out for
Do not share personal information in chat.
Harassing the player chosen as the Poison ruins the round for them.
Deliberately teaming up to protect one player or sabotage another breaks the game for everyone else.
