Controls for every platform

Table
In short Each platform has a full set of controls, but the game is built around PC first.

Before you leave the spawn area, take a moment to find the terminal there — it walks you through the basics. Once you step outside the spawn circle (the Safe Zone), you can attack and take damage. Note that this game has a lot of flashing lights, so take breaks if you need to.

PC attack keysM1 (hold left click) for the base attack with no cooldown, then Z, X, C, V for abilities with cooldowns, and Ctrl for the charged nuke
PC movementShift once to toggle sprint; Alt to toggle Shift-Lock (or swap them in Settings with 'Switch Sprinting/Shiftlock (PC Only)')
PC mode switchingQ, E, R, T, Y, U, F, G, H, J, K, L for base modes; Q, B, N, M for submodes; 1 and 2 for switching scripts
Mobiletap the large M1 button on the right to hold or release the attack; press an ability on the left to switch attack type, then press it again to return to M1; Combat Shift-Lock raises the crosshair for better aim against bosses
ConsoleY/Triangle is M1; LT/L2, LB/L1, RB/R1, RT/R2, B/Circle map to Z through the nuke; X/Square sprints; push the left stick to open or close the Mode Wheel, use the right stick to pick a mode, then push the left stick again to confirm; D-pad Right/Down/Left selects B, N, and M submodes

How modes and submodes work

Tips
In short Switching modes during a boss fight is more effective than sticking to one the whole time.

Every mode sits on a side, and the Spectrum side is where you start. Other sides — Halcyon, Subliminal, Cosmic, Synthetic, Identity — are reached by going to Mayhem and pressing the key combination listed for that side. To return to Mayhem from any of those sides, press Q on the side's base mode. Many modes are unfinished and have only their M1 attack for now; the developers are adding abilities in future updates.

Tips worth knowing
  • Most base modes have submodes on M, N, or B — check the in-game UI above the mode keys to see which are available
  • Some submodes have their own further submodes, accessed with the same M, N, B keys
  • Staying on one mode in a boss fight can become ineffective quickly, so experiment with switching
  • Some modes are hidden until you unlock them: Dependency requires defeating a special Lunatic Sentinel in a private server without dying; Archon requires beating Misona on Sigma difficulty in a server with only you in it; Prime and the entire Synthetic Side also require specific unlock conditions
  • Pressing P triggers a taunt on modes that have one — a few taunts have special effects like light healing or even a hidden mode
  • The 1 and 2 number keys switch between scripts (Stratospheric and Project C.O.R.E.), each of which has its own Q-through-L mode list

Ultrahell — what it is and how to run it

Step
In short How you complete Ultrahell determines which rewards and unlocks you walk away with.

Ultrahell is a challenging obstacle course where you play as an Agent of [COMPANY]. Every run has a roughly 50% chance to begin — a large tan-yellow pyramid spawns to the left of the floating purple castle, and you interact with the object behind the throne inside. The movement system uses dashes and jumps, so understand them before you start.

  1. Learn the movement you have up to 3 dashes, each costing 1 stamina that refills at 1 per second; double jumping is available; a super dash chains a jump into a dash into a double jump before the dash ends, flinging you roughly twice as far as a normal dash
  2. Defeat the Training Dummy at the end of 'Warm Welcome' this unlocks WARP, a navigation tool you will need throughout the run; you must do this every time you rejoin or reset your data
  3. Use checkpoints on your first run you can always return later to attempt a checkpointless clear
  4. Clear the run normally every successful completion rewards 1 Corrupted Star Soul, 5 Ranks, and 6666 Orbs
  5. Clear without using any optional checkpoints this earns the 'Awaken, My Ancestor.' badge, the Terminus Gift equipment, access to the Eralf mode, and the Dune skin for Eternity, on top of the standard rewards
  6. Clear without dying this earns the 'Ultrahell but No Death' badge and the Artifact of Ultimate Power equipment, on top of the standard rewards
05

Earning Orbs and spending them

Tips
In short Bosses are your main source of Orbs, which you spend in the Skin Shop at the top of the screen.

Orbs are the currency you need for many skins in the Skin Shop. Some skins cost Orbs outright, while others require materials, badges, or are only available during events.

Tips worth knowing
  • Fight bosses to earn Orbs — this is the primary way to collect them
  • Open the Skin Shop from the button at the top of the screen to browse what is available
  • Some skins require badges or specific materials rather than Orbs alone
  • Event-exclusive skins are only available during their event window
06

Badges worth working toward

Table
In short Most active badges reward an unlock — a mode, a skin, or a piece of equipment — so they are worth chasing for gameplay reasons.

All badges below are currently obtainable. Badges marked as requiring a Private Server (PS) only count when earned in one.

Quest unlocks and what they need

Check
In short Several powerful modes are locked behind quests, so check these requirements before you wonder why a mode is greyed out.

Quests are specific conditions you meet to access certain modes. Some require boss kills, some require kills in a server, and some overlap with badge requirements.

  • Armageddon own 1 Oblivion, 1 Lament, 1 Judgement, and reach Rank 100
  • Venator collect 13 Death Butterflies and reach 50 total kills in a server
  • Eralf beat Ultrahell (Reality #012-1) without using any optional checkpoints
  • Archon beat Misona on Sigma difficulty solo
  • Demonic beat the small silver feline boss on Aleph difficulty solo
  • Prime beat Prime on Sigma difficulty solo
  • Dependency beat Sentinel on Lunatic difficulty solo

Common questions

FAQ

Why does a mode show up but still won't let me use it?

Some modes are visible on the list but locked until you meet their unlock condition. Armageddon needs a quest completed, Eralf needs a checkpointless Ultrahell clear, Dependency needs a solo Lunatic Sentinel win, and Archon needs a solo Sigma Misona win.

Can I swap the Sprint and Shift-Lock keys on PC?

Yes. Go into the in-game settings and turn on 'Switch Sprinting/Shiftlock (PC Only)' to make Alt the sprint key and Shift the Shift-Lock key. There is also a 'Switch Ultimate/V (PC Only)' setting that swaps the Ctrl nuke and the V ability if you prefer that layout.

How do I access sides other than Spectrum?

Go to Mayhem on the Spectrum side and press the key combination for the side you want. To return to Spectrum from any other side, press Q while on that side's base mode, which brings you back to Mayhem.
