Everything in the game feeds into one repeating cycle: catch, sell, upgrade, repeat.
Your main job is to catch fish and sell them for money. That money goes straight into upgrades, which let you catch more fish faster and survive tougher enemies. Each upgrade you buy opens up more options, so the cycle keeps rewarding you the longer you play.

Three upgrade categories are available: weapons, turrets, and airstrikes.
Weapons raise your attack power so you can take down fish and enemies more efficiently. Turrets attack automatically. Airstrikes hit a wide area at once. The more money you accumulate, the more upgrade options you can unlock.

Surviving the night boss

In short
The night boss is far more dangerous than anything you face during the day.
When night arrives, a powerful boss appears that is much stronger than the sharks and explosive fish you deal with in daylight. Use the daytime to sell fish and buy as many upgrades as you can before the boss spawns.
