How a round works
StepWhen you join a room you wait in the lobby until enough players are present. Once the game starts, your role appears on screen and the action phase begins.
- Join a room wait in the lobby until the game fills and starts.
- Check your role read the screen carefully to see whether you are the killer or a regular player.
- Play your role act according to what the screen told you during the action phase.
- Reach a verdict the round concludes when the killer is identified or goes undetected.
The two roles and their goals
TableIn every round the players are split into two groups. One person is assigned the killer role and everyone else is a regular player. Because their win conditions are opposite, the whole game is built around this tension.
| Killer | stay hidden long enough to avoid being identified and win the round. |
| Regular player | observe everyone around you and correctly identify the killer to win. |
Staying hidden as the killer
TipsThe killer wins by not being caught, which means drawing as little attention as possible from the moment the round begins. Any behaviour that stands out gives regular players a reason to focus on you.
- Move at the same pace as the players around you rather than rushing or lagging behind.
- Join conversations naturally so you do not look like you are avoiding interaction.
- Avoid sudden changes in behaviour mid-round, since inconsistency is one of the first things players notice.
Finding the killer as a regular player
CheckWith up to eleven other players in the room, there is a lot to watch. Focus on differences rather than similarities, because the killer has to maintain a performance that regular players do not.
- Watch for movement patterns that differ from the rest of the group.
- Pay attention to how quickly and consistently players react to what is happening.
- Note anyone who repeatedly says or does the opposite of everyone else.
- Keep an eye on players who position themselves away from the main group.
- Share what you have noticed with other regular players to piece together a clearer picture.
