Your first ten minutes
StepEvery new player starts with about $200,000 and the Pioneer Class ship on an empty build area. Before you can earn anything, you need a working ship and a completed route.
- Open the build interface place rooms and structural pieces only where the grid appears. Anywhere the grid is not showing, you cannot build.
- Install an engine open the Mechanical Power category and place at least one engine. Without it your ship cannot move.
- Visit the dock stock up on fuel, energy, and supplies before departing. Running out mid-voyage lowers passenger satisfaction.
- Load your passengers open the dock interface and select the passenger loading option. Passengers do not board on their own.
- Depart and return once the ship reaches the destination and passengers disembark, the game pays out rewards based on how satisfied your passengers were.
Grid building rules worth knowing early
CheckThe build grid controls where every piece can go. Ships can expand both horizontally and vertically, so you can stack multiple decks on top of one another. A few placement rules catch new players off guard.
- The grid must be visible in a spot before you can place anything there check the edges of your build area before planning a layout.
- Large objects that take up a 2×2 area block smaller objects from sitting in the same space.
- Building upward is allowed, so consider putting mechanical rooms on lower decks and passenger cabins higher up.
- The Pioneer Class gives you a 34×9 tile footprint 868 tiles total — so plan your layout to fit within that space.
Setting up autopilot voyages
StepManual voyages work fine early on, but autopilot lets ships run routes without you at the controls. All of the following must be installed and hired before the system activates.
- Place a Radar Mast and a Radome on your ship both are required for autopilot navigation.
- Install Ship Controls and a Bridge Chair inside the bridge area of your vessel.
- Build Crew Cabins so your staff have somewhere to stay on board.
- Hire a Captain through the Cruise Line management interface autopilot will not run without one.
- Lay out your route by placing navigation nodes across the ocean map between your chosen docks.
- Load passengers at the dock as normal, then depart the ship will follow your node route and return automatically.
Crew roles and the rooms they need
TableHire crew through the Cruise Line management interface. Check that the matching room is already built before you try to hire, or the role will not be available.
| Captain | enables autopilot navigation; no dedicated room requirement beyond Crew Cabins |
| Healthcare staff | requires a medical center and crew accommodations to be present on board |
| Housekeeping staff | requires a laundry room and crew cabins already built on the ship |
Starter ships side by side
TableBoth ships were released in Version 1.2.0. The Pioneer is where everyone begins; the Stratus is the natural next step once you have saved enough from voyages.
| Ship | Hull type | Build tiles | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pioneer Class | Monohull | 868 tiles (34×9) | $115,000 |
| Stratus Class | Catamaran | 1,123 tiles (39×9) | $242,500 |

- Stratus Class
- The second ship in the upgrade path, built on a catamaran hull with 1,123 tiles of build space.

Common questions
FAQWhy are my passengers not boarding?
Passengers never board automatically. You have to open the dock interface and select the passenger loading option yourself each time. If you skip this step, you will depart with zero passengers and earn nothing from the voyage.
Autopilot is not working — what should I check?
You need a Radar Mast, a Radome, Ship Controls, and a Bridge Chair all installed on the ship. On top of that, a Captain must be hired through the Cruise Line management interface. Any one of these missing will prevent autopilot from activating.
The game has bugs — is that normal?
The game is currently in Beta, and the developers openly state that minor bugs and balance inconsistencies are expected at this stage.
How do I earn more from each voyage without buying a bigger ship?
Add more hospitality facilities — restaurants, entertainment venues, decorated spaces — to raise your ship rating toward five stars. A five-star rating doubles your voyage reward.
