First steps on Spawn Island
StepWhen a server is created, a crate appears next to the Index. It contains a speed coil, full iron armor, a pack cube, a forge cube, and an armor cube — enough to get you moving right away. Spawn Island itself has eight natural cube types spawning on it: red, green, blue, white, ice, rock, wood, and dirt, so you have raw materials from the very start.
- Collect the crate open it next to the Index to pick up your starting gear before doing anything else.
- Check the Researcher not every cube can be combined, so use the Researcher on Spawn Island to look up recipes before you drop cubes.
- Drop to combine press Q to drop a cube you are holding onto another cube on the ground to attempt a combination.
- List all commands type /cmds in chat to see every available command in one place.
- Explore to unlock some cube types only become available after you have found them out on the map, so push outward early.

Island exploration and capture
TipsYou expand by building bridges from Spawn Island to the surrounding islands. Each ring of islands is harder than the one before it, and clearing the first ring opens up the second. As you explore, press F to switch items when you need to interact with things on the islands.
- Unlocking Magnetizer Island earns you the Magnetizer badge along with a gem reward.
- Ambush islands trigger a fight when you open a chest — islands in further rings are significantly harder.
- Inside a Raider Village you can find a Burner, which lets dirt smelt automatically once you locate it.
- Capturing every island possible in a world earns the All Captured! badge and 80 gems.
- Beating every boss in the first ring unlocks the second ring, where stronger cubes and islands become available.
Boss order and combat approach
CheckThe bosses you will encounter include Cube Destroyer, Raider Brute, Cyber Raider, Pyro, Litho, Godfather, and Guardian of the Sea. Each one has a different weakness, so matching your weapon type to the boss makes the fight noticeably easier. For most encounters, the reliable approach is to land a hit, back away to dodge the counter, and then move in again.
- Pyro is vulnerable to water-based weapons, and when its HP drops to around 40% it explodes create distance the moment that happens.
- Litho speeds up sharply once its HP falls below 40%, so be ready to move faster in the second phase.
- Raider Brute summons smaller enemies during the fight use thrown cubes to deal with those adds quickly.
- Guardian of the Sea is easier when you bring fire-based weapons and Pyro armor.
- Cube Destroyer can be revived using white, yellow, cyan, spike, and sacrificial cubes if you want to fight it again.
Gem income and spending
SummaryGems are the persistent currency in Cubination. You earn them by defeating bosses, earning badges, and redeeming codes. Spend them to upgrade the Crystal on any server or to revive the Crystal if it gets destroyed. Because gems are cross-server, you never lose progress by switching worlds.
- Sources boss defeats, badge completions, and code redemptions all pay out gems.
- Cross-server gems earned on one server are fully available on any other server you join.
- Badge bonus completing badges like All Captured! pays 80 gems in a single step.
- Crystal upgrade gems spent on the Crystal improve your server's capabilities.
- Crystal revival if the Crystal is destroyed, gems can bring it back.
Redeeming codes
StepCodes give you gems and other rewards. Some codes have expiry dates, so it is worth redeeming them as soon as you find them.
- Open settings find the code section inside the in-game settings menu.
- One use only each code can only be redeemed once, so entering the same code a second time gives nothing.
- Check for expiry some codes stop working after a set date.

Common questions
FAQHow do I combine cubes?
Hold a cube and press Q to drop it onto another cube on the ground. Not every pair of cubes will produce a result, so check the Researcher first to confirm a recipe exists before you try.
Can I use gems I earned on one server in a different server?
Yes. Gems are cross-server, so they follow your account rather than the server you earned them on. Earn them anywhere and spend them wherever you need.
How do I unlock Ring 2?
Defeat all the bosses in Ring 1 and Ring 2 opens automatically. The Ring 2 badge marks exactly this achievement.
Where do I enter codes?
Open the in-game settings menu and find the code section inside it. Each code can only be used once, and some codes expire after a set period.
