About

Overview

RotorOps is a helicopter simulator on Roblox where you take on rescue, firefighting, and police missions as either a pilot or a medic. Up to 35 players can work together in the same session. This guide walks you through choosing a role, running your first mission, handling winch rescues, fighting wildfires, and earning every badge.

Three mission types and what makes each different

Table
In short Each mission type uses different aircraft and asks you to do completely different things, so pick one that matches how you want to play.

Before you touch anything, know which mission you are signing up for. The aircraft, the tools, and the goals change entirely depending on your choice.

Rescue (SMUR)fly an EC145, AS365, EC135, or H145 to treat casualties and deliver them to the hospital
Firefightingpilot a CL-415 or Dash 8 with a Bambi bucket or water drop to stop a wildfire from spreading
Police (Gendarmerie)use a FLIR thermal camera or night-vision binoculars to monitor gatherings or locate missing persons from the air

Getting started on your first shift

Step
In short Following these steps in order lets you pick up three badges during a single first session.

The game gives you the Welcome badge the moment you join, so you are already one badge in before you do anything. From there, focus on finishing one full rescue mission as a crew.

  1. Join the base the Bienvenue a la base badge unlocks automatically when you enter the game
  2. Choose a role select pilot if you want to fly, or medic if you want to handle treatment on the ground
  3. Find a partner one pilot paired with at least one medic is what the Esprit d'equipage badge requires
  4. Complete the rescue treat the casualty, load them, and fly them to the hospital to earn Premier sauvetage
  5. Stay together finishing the whole mission as a crew awards the Esprit d'equipage badge at the same time
03

Rescue mission — treating and loading a casualty

Step
In short A casualty will not board the helicopter until every item listed on the medical file has been used, so work through the checklist completely before trying to load them.

When you reach a casualty, open their medical file to see exactly what treatment they need. The file can call for any combination of a cervical collar, splint, tourniquet, intubation probe, or respirator. Only after all required items have been applied will the game allow you to load the casualty and fly to the hospital.

  1. Approach the casualty land nearby or have the medic descend on the winch cable if the terrain does not allow landing
  2. Open the medical file read every item it lists before you touch anything
  3. Apply each item take out and use every piece of equipment the file requests
  4. Confirm completion check the file again; if it shows everything done, the casualty is ready to board
  5. Fly to the hospital deliver the casualty there to finish the mission and earn the Premier sauvetage badge
04

Winch rescue — when landing is not possible

Tips
In short A clean winch rescue depends on steady hovering from the pilot and precise cable work from the medic.

Earning the Helitreuillage reussi badge means completing a full winch rescue: medic down the cable, casualty back up on the stretcher. The two roles have to work in sync.

Tips worth knowing
  • The medic descends on the cable first, then secures the casualty onto the stretcher before signalling to hoist
  • The casualty is raised on the stretcher — both must be attached before the hoist begins
05

Firefighting — reading the fire before you drop

Tips
In short Drop water ahead of where the fire is heading, not just on the flames already burning.

Wind pushes the fire forward. The CL-415 can scoop up water during an on-water run. Multiple aircraft split across the fire line contain it far faster than one plane working alone.

Tips worth knowing
  • Refill the CL-415 by skimming a water surface in the scooping run
  • Use the Bambi bucket on a helicopter to hit hotspots
  • Earn the Premier feu maitrise badge by containing your first wildfire before it spreads past the perimeter
06

Crew play and shared rewards

Check
In short Playing as a crew earns a bonus on top of the mission reward, and one badge is impossible to get any other way.

You can attempt any mission solo, but teaming up pays off in two concrete ways: the bonus reward is split among everyone in the crew, and the Esprit d'equipage badge is locked behind a completed crew mission.

  • Send a request to embark so you and another player join the same mission
  • Make sure the crew has at least one pilot and one medic before departing on a rescue
  • Finish the entire mission together the badge and the bonus both require a complete run
07

All five badges and how to unlock them

Table
In short Four of the five badges each require a different action, so work through them one at a time.

Every badge is tied to a specific action in the game. The first one is free the moment you join.

Common questions

FAQ

Which role should I pick first — pilot or medic?

Pick pilot if you want to focus on flying and positioning the aircraft. Pick medic if you want to handle the hands-on treatment and winch work. For the Esprit d'equipage badge you need both roles covered, so coordinate with whoever else is in the session.

Why won't the casualty board my helicopter?

The game will not let a casualty board until every item listed on their medical file has been applied. Open the file again and check whether any treatment step is still showing as incomplete.

Can I play through everything solo?

Rescue, firefighting, and police missions can all be started alone. The one exception is the Esprit d'equipage badge, which requires finishing a mission with at least one pilot and one medic working together, so you will need at least one other player for that.
