About

Overview

Jurassic Blocky is an open-world PvP dinosaur game on Roblox where you pick a dinosaur, master its abilities, and fight other players or team up to take down powerful world bosses. This guide covers how to earn DinoCoins, how tiers and passives shape combat, and how to handle both PvP and boss fights.

Three ways to earn DinoCoins

Table
In short Collecting Amber pays the most per action, but killing players and Goats both add up steadily over time.

DinoCoins are the main currency and you will need them to buy skins. There are three sources. Keep in mind that private servers do not grant coins or PvP rewards.

Collecting Amberfind Amber on the map and pick it up for 50 DinoCoins each time.
Killing the Goat AIthe Goat is the only AI creature currently in the game and requires the Playable AI Gamepass to access; each kill pays 5 DinoCoins.
Killing playersthe payout scales with the tier of the dinosaur you kill, so higher-tier opponents are worth more.

How tiers decide combat

Tips
In short Knowing your tier before you fight tells you whether your heavy attack will ragdoll the opponent or just deal damage.

Playables are divided into five tiers based on health, size, and damage per second. Tier matters most when you use a heavy attack — a heavy only ragdolls a target in the same tier or lower. If you heavy someone in a higher tier, they take the damage but stay on their feet. Classes such as Terrestrial, Aerial, Event, Hybrid, and Devsaur describe what role a playable fills but are separate from the tier system.

Tips worth knowing
  • A heavy attack against a higher-tier dinosaur will not ragdoll them — they take the damage but remain standing.
  • Hybrids and Event playables can have up to two passives, making them more complex than standard dinosaurs.

Passive abilities and how to use them

Summary
In short Every dinosaur has a passive built around a specific playstyle, and fighting well means understanding what yours does.

Each playable has at least one passive that shapes how it performs in combat. Standard dinosaurs have one passive; Hybrids can have two, and some Event playables and Devsaurs have fully custom passives unique to that creature.

Tank 30% knockback and stun reduction plus 10% incoming damage resistance.
Bleeder applies a bleed effect on every left-click hit that drains 0.65% of the target's health per tick.
Runner cuts health-based speed penalties by 50%, keeping you mobile even when hurt.
Stance standing still gives 40% damage reduction and 30% extra damage; walking halves those bonuses to 20% damage reduction and 15% damage increase; running removes them entirely.
Frenzy each landed hit stacks a 5% damage boost up to 25%, but one missed attack resets the stack to zero.
Bloodthirsty heals 20% of damage dealt and gives 35% health regen on a kill instead of the usual 20%.
Enraged damage bonus scales up the lower your health drops, reaching 50% at its limit.
Adrenaline at 20% health or below, removes health-based speed penalties and adds 25% damage until health climbs back above that threshold.

Skins and cosmetic customization

Tips
In short Skins are entirely cosmetic, so spend DinoCoins on whichever design you actually like.

Skins change how your dinosaur looks and nothing else — they carry no combat advantage. Some skins are simple recolors while others include model edits, new animations, or different sounds. Skins with model or animation edits cost more DinoCoins than plain recolors. The developers have planned additional ways to obtain skins beyond buying them directly, including through quests and achievements, and through Robux-bought Skin Packs.

Tips worth knowing
  • Skins never affect your stats.
  • Skins with model or animation changes cost more DinoCoins than basic recolors.
  • Skins are currently bought with DinoCoins, with additional methods planned including quests, achievements, and Robux-bought Skin Packs.

Common questions

FAQ

Why am I not earning any coins?

Private servers do not grant coins or PvP rewards, so switch to a public server if your earnings have stopped.

How does the heavy attack actually work?

A heavy attack ragdolls the target only if that target is in the same tier as you or lower. If your opponent is in a higher tier, the heavy still deals its full damage but leaves them standing and able to fight back immediately.

Can I play alone or do I need a group?

Most of the game works fine solo — you can hunt Amber, fight other players, and grind DinoCoins by yourself. World bosses are built for multiple players, so teaming up is the practical approach there.
