About

Overview

The Upgrade Tree of Life is an incremental Roblox game where you buy upgrades to grow your Leaves count higher and higher, reset to unlock even more upgrades, and work through four Prestige layers on the way to the current endgame goal of e360M Leaves. This guide covers how to get started, what the core loop looks like, which buildings and mechanics unlock as you progress, and how to make the most of co-op play.

01

The core loop

Step
In short Everything in the game comes back to earning Leaves, spending them on upgrades, and resetting to reach higher numbers.

The game opens with a simple idea: buy upgrades to earn Leaves faster, then use those Leaves to buy more upgrades. Once you hit a wall, you reset and start the cycle again with access to even stronger upgrades. With over 570 upgrades in the game, there is always something new to buy.

  1. Earn Leaves Leaves are the main currency and everything you buy costs them.
  2. Buy upgrades Each upgrade increases how quickly your Leaves grow.
  3. Perform key actions Decompolization, Harvest, Transform, and Bacteria are four early actions that open up further progress; doing each one for the first time marks a clear milestone.
  4. Reset Resetting lets you purchase upgrades that were out of reach before, pushing your Leaves total much higher.
  5. Prestige After enough resets you can climb through the four Prestige layers, each one unlocking a new tier of upgrades.

First steps when you load in

Check
In short Getting through your first Decompolization, Harvest, Transform, and Bacteria conversion early confirms you are on the right track.

When you first join, the game awards you a Welcome badge automatically. From there, focus on growing your Leaves and trying each of the four early actions before you think about resetting. Each one represents a mechanic you will keep using throughout the run.

  • Perform Decompolization as soon as the option is available.
  • Complete your first Harvest to unlock that part of the progression loop.
  • Trigger Transform and Bacteria conversion at least once each.
03

Buildings and mid-game mechanics

Tips
In short Unlocking buildings and clearing their attached challenges is the main work of the mid-game.

As your Leaves grow you gain access to a range of buildings and special mechanics. Each one adds a new layer to the game rather than replacing what came before.

Tips worth knowing
  • Unlock the Weather building, then fulfill all four weather conditions to complete that challenge.
  • Unlock the Incinerator and the Furnace separately — each is its own unlock milestone.
  • Use Reinforcement once you have access to it.
  • Entering Spring triggers the Virus event, which is part of the season progression.
  • At the Great Split you choose between two paths; you can eventually unlock both rather than being locked into one.
  • Clearing every season counts as full season completion.
04

Co-op and private servers

Summary
In short Play with people you trust, because teammates can hurt your run just as easily as they can help it.

Co-op is built into how the game works, not just an optional extra. Up to six players can share a room, and what your teammates do directly affects your progress. Private servers are free and the developers recommend using them so you can control who joins.

  • Room size up to six players per session.
  • Teamwork impact co-operation or sabotage both change how fast you progress.
  • Private servers free to create and the recommended way to play.
05

Long-term goals and endgame

Table
In short Reaching e360M Leaves is the current endgame, but the Infini-Leaf badge marks a separate astronomical milestone along the way.

Two numbers are worth keeping in mind as long-term targets. One is the current endgame figure set by the developers; the other is a badge milestone tied to the floating-point ceiling.

Current endgamee360M Leaves.
Infini-Leaf milestone1.79e308 Leaves, the double floating-point limit.
Prestige depthfour full layers between start and endgame.
Upgrade count570+ upgrades to work through across the whole run.

Common questions

FAQ

Does resetting delete all my progress?

Only some data is wiped depending on the type of reset. There are four full Prestige layers plus some minor resets, and not everything is lost each time.

What happens if the game crashes or I lose data?

The game is in early development and the developers warn that bugs and data loss should be expected.

What is the point of the seasonal event badges?

Badges from events like Christmas 2023 and Halloween 2024 are noted by the developers as potentially giving something in the future.
