How experience and money work together
TableExperience feeds into your skill level, which affects how fast you fish and what rarities you can pull. Money is the practical currency for buying and upgrading rods, purchasing boats, and unlocking new maps.
| Experience | spend it on skill levels to fish faster and hit rarer catches |
| Money | spend it on rod upgrades, new boats, and map unlocks |
| Skill level | rises with experience, improves fishing speed and rare fish chances |
| Rod upgrades | cost money, let you handle larger and harder fish |
| Boat upgrades | cost money, increase how quickly you move between spots |
| Map unlocks | cost money, open new areas with fish you cannot find elsewhere |
Building your rod collection
TipsThe in-game store lets you buy new rods and strengthen the ones you already own. A Christmas update added five limited rods. Different rods suit different maps and fish sizes.
- Check a rod's stats before buying so you know what you are getting
- Upgrade your current rod regularly
- Keep more than one rod so you can switch based on what you are hunting
- Limited rods appear during events and are worth grabbing while available
Unlocking and exploring new maps
CheckNew maps cost money to unlock, and each one brings fish species you cannot find anywhere else. A better boat cuts down the time it takes to move around. Your progress saves automatically.
- Check how much a map unlock costs before committing your money
- Note which fish you still need and target the maps where they appear
- Work through all maps if you want to complete the full fish collection
- Saves are automatic you can explore freely without worrying about losing progress

Common questions
FAQWhat should I do first when I start the game?
Cast the rod you start with and keep fishing on the first map. Every catch gives you experience and money.
Is the premium membership worth it?
It adds ten percent to every experience gain, which speeds up skill levelling. Free players can reach every map, fish, and piece of gear in the game without it.
Where do I enter redeem codes?
Codes are entered from a specific screen inside the game. Make sure to type each code exactly as it appears — one wrong character will stop it from working. Codes can only be used once, so redeem them as soon as you get them.
