Handling creature encounters

Tips
In short Getting out of a creature's line of sight as fast as possible is the most reliable way to stay alive.

Creatures inside the base will go after players on sight.

Tips worth knowing
  • The moment a creature spots you, break line of sight by ducking around a corner or into cover
  • If a creature is focused on another player, use that window to reposition quietly
  • Watch how a creature is moving and facing before you cross open ground
  • Staying with other players spreads the creature's attention

Reaching the underground base

Check
In short There is more than one path down, so keep exploring rather than waiting for a single obvious route.

Getting underground is the deepest objective the game offers. The path is not handed to you — you have to find it through exploration.

  • Search walls and floors for entrances that are easy to miss on a first pass
  • Revisit areas you passed through quickly
  • Try more than one path multiple routes to the lower level exist
