How a round works
StepWhen the game starts, all players board the boat and begin rowing. The goal is to pass through four checkpoints in order. Clear all four and the run is complete. One wrong move from any player can send the boat out of control, so the run lives or dies on how well everyone stays in step.
- Board the boat and begin rowing.
- Row together all players must paddle in sync to keep the boat on course.
- Pass through all four checkpoints in order.
- Clear checkpoint four this completes the journey and ends the round.

Keeping the boat under control
TipsThe boat responds to what every player does, so a single person rowing out of rhythm throws the whole team off. Calling out what you see ahead gives everyone time to react. Starting at a steady pace while the group finds its rhythm is much safer than trying to go fast from the first stroke.
- Use voice chat or text to count strokes so the whole group rows at the same beat.
- If you spot an obstacle coming up, say so before the boat reaches it.
- Start slow and speed up only once the team is rowing in sync.
- If one player stops, everyone should stop rather than let the boat twist.
Solo play vs. playing with friends
TableBoth modes use the same four-checkpoint course, but they feel very different. On your own you set the pace and don't have to coordinate with anyone. With friends, timing becomes everything and a single out-of-step paddle can send the boat spinning.
| Pace | solo lets you go at your own speed; group play locks everyone to a shared rhythm. |
| Pressure | solo has none; group play punishes any player who rows out of step. |
| Player count | anywhere from one up to six in the same session. |

Common questions

Yes, solo play is supported and you can clear all four checkpoints without anyone else in the boat.
What happens if one player rows at the wrong time?
A single out-of-sync stroke can throw the boat out of control, making it much harder for the rest of the team to steer.
