Upgrading and evolving your team

Tips
In short Coins and fossils are the two resources that drive every upgrade.

Your captured dinosaurs level up and evolve as you invest resources into them. Fossils handle evolution and rank increases, while coins cover general upgrades. If your team composition is not working, a species reroll lets you change a dinosaur's species. Exploring new worlds unlocks rarer dinosaurs.

Tips worth knowing
  • Spend coins to upgrade your dinosaurs
  • Use fossils to evolve a dinosaur or push it to a higher rank
  • Use a species reroll to change a dinosaur's species and rebuild your team
  • Explore new worlds to find rarer dinosaurs

What to do when a code does not work

Check
In short Most failed codes come down to a typo or an expired code.

Codes are case-sensitive, so even one wrong character causes a failure. A private server can sometimes apply a newly released code when an older public server has not caught up yet.

  • Paste instead of type confirm you copied the code exactly, including any capitals and symbols
  • Try a private server join one if a fresh code still fails on a public server
  • Wait and retry give it a few hours and try again

Common questions

FAQ

Why can't I catch a dinosaur even when I throw the ball at it?

The dinosaur needs to be weakened first — keep attacking with your weapon until it has taken enough damage before you throw.

Where do I find new codes?

New codes are posted in the official Dino Hunters Discord channel. Codes expire, so check there regularly and redeem anything new as soon as you see it.

What does a species reroll actually do?

It changes the species of a dinosaur already on your team, letting you adjust your lineup without having to go out and catch a replacement.

Can I make progress without paying?

Yes — coins and fossils are collected through regular play, and codes hand out extra coins, fossils, and species rerolls for free.
