About

Overview

Hole in the Wall is a team minigame for up to 12 players where you fit your character through the cutout in an oncoming wall to earn points for your team. This guide covers how the game works, what the different named walls ask of you, and how to build up your clear count toward the full set of badges.

How the game works

Summary
In short Every round comes down to one thing: get your whole body inside the cutout before the wall hits you.

A wall slides toward all the players on the platform. That wall has a hole cut into it, and your job is to move your character so your entire body fits inside that hole. Succeed and your team gains points; get caught by the wall and your team loses points. Up to 12 players share the same wall at once, so you are all trying to squeeze into the same cutout together.

Objective fit your whole character inside the hole before the wall reaches you
Scoring a successful fit adds points to your team's total; a miss subtracts them
Players up to 12 people face the same wall at the same time

Reading the wall before it arrives

Step
In short Using the moment before the wall reaches you to study the hole's shape is the single most useful habit you can build.

There is a short window between when the wall appears and when it actually reaches you. That time is your chance to look at the hole's shape and plan your position.

  1. Look at the hole study its exact shape the moment the wall comes into view
  2. Watch your teammates if others are already positioned correctly, use their location as a reference point
  3. Stay clear of collisions with up to 12 players sharing one hole, make sure you are not blocking someone else or being blocked
03

Named walls and what they signal

Tips
In short Several walls have specific names tied to a distinct shape or action, and recognising them quickly gives you a head start.

The game includes a number of named walls, each with a cutout shape different from the others. Knowing the named walls means you can react faster when one appears instead of reading it fresh every time.

Tips worth knowing
  • Anvil, Awesome Face, Handstand, Jump, Jump Levels, Ladder, and Builders Club each have their own unique cutout shape
  • Every named wall is its own badge opportunity, so clearing one for the first time is worth celebrating
04

When you keep missing the same wall

Check
In short Most repeated failures come from misreading the hole's shape or getting tangled up with teammates, both of which are fixable.

If a particular wall keeps knocking you out, run through this checklist before the next attempt.

  • Confirm the hole's actual shape look again rather than going on memory from the last attempt
  • Check whether a teammate is already in the spot you are aiming for
  • Make sure you are not overlapping with another player in a way that blocks your movement
  • If someone nearby got through cleanly, copy their position as a starting point
  • Remember that one failed wall does not end the round focus on the next one

Building your badge collection

Table
In short Badges track both your total walls cleared and your progress through the named wall list, so there is always a next goal to aim for.

There are twelve badges in total. Five of them unlock automatically as you clear more and more walls overall. The other seven are tied to specific named walls — you earn each one the first time you successfully clear that particular wall.

Common questions

FAQ

What happens if I miss the hole?

The wall catches the parts of your character that did not fit inside the cutout, and your team loses points as a result. One miss does not end the round, so focus on doing better on the next wall.

Can I play alone?

The game is built as a team competition and allows up to 12 players to face the same wall together. You will be playing alongside other people rather than by yourself.

Do I need to spend anything to earn badges?

No. Every wall and every badge is accessible without any purchase — the whole game is free to play. Clear walls and the badges follow automatically.

How do I unlock the named-wall badges?

Each named-wall badge — Anvil, Awesome Face, Handstand, Jump, Jump Levels, Ladder, and Builders Club — unlocks the first time you successfully clear that specific wall.
