About

Overview

Escape 99 Rooms is a puzzle game where you work through 180 rooms, solving a different mystery in each one to open the door to the next. The path is straightforward — there are no branching routes to worry about. This guide covers how the game works, how to push past stuck points, and how to use codes and the group.

How the game works

Step
In short Every room gives you a puzzle to solve, and solving it opens the door to the next room.

The loop is the same in every room: look around for clues and items, figure out what they mean, and use that answer to get the door open. The path is one straight line from room one to room 180, so you never have to guess which direction to go.

  1. Search for clues check walls, floors, and the background for numbers, letters, or patterns.
  2. Pick up items collect anything the room lets you take.
  3. Work out the answer match your clues and items to whatever lock or puzzle is blocking the exit.
  4. Open the door the exit unlocks once you have the right solution, and you move on.

Habits that carry you further

Tips
In short Careful observation in each room beats rushing, especially once the puzzles get harder.

Early rooms are gentler, which makes them a good place to build habits you will need later.

Tips worth knowing
  • Click every corner of the room — hidden items are easy to miss if you only scan the middle.
  • Write down any numbers, letters, or symbols you see, even if they seem unimportant right now.
  • Try every item you are carrying against every puzzle you can see — items are there to be used.
  • Talk to any characters in the room, because their dialogue can contain the hint you need.
  • If a room has you completely stumped, step away and come back with fresh eyes.
03

What to check when you are stuck

Check
In short Most stuck moments come down to an item you forgot about or a clue you walked past.

Before looking for outside help, run through this list. Give the room one more thorough pass before giving up.

  • Have you used every item in your inventory at least once?
  • Have you checked the edges and background of the room, not just the obvious objects?
  • Have you written down every number, letter, and pattern visible in the room?
  • Have you spoken to every character present?

Redeem codes

Step
In short Codes are single-use and expire, so enter them carefully and promptly.

The developers release codes that give you bonus rewards inside the game. Each code only works once per account, and codes can expire, so use them as soon as you find them. The game's group and its in-game announcements are where new codes are shared.

  1. Find a code check the official group or in-game announcements for current codes.
  2. Type carefully match every capital letter, lowercase letter, and number exactly.
  3. Remember it is one use only entering the same code a second time will not work.
07

Horror level and who this suits

Summary
In short The game has horror elements, but the puzzle focus keeps it manageable for most players.

Escape 99 Rooms includes scary moments, but it is designed so that the puzzle-solving stays at the centre of the experience. It is built to be playable solo at your own pace.

  • Horror intensity mild, not traumatic
  • Primary focus puzzle solving
  • Play style solo, self-paced
