NEKOCITY Guide: Getting started
About
OverviewNEKOCITY is a run-based action RPG on Roblox where you play as a cat fighting through a dangerous city, scavenging loot, and taking on powerful bosses. Each run generates a random map, so no two playthroughs are exactly the same. This guide covers classes, how runs work, bosses, clans, and tips for going further.

Getting started — your first run
StepWhen you first open the game you build your hero cat, then choose a class and a difficulty level. There are four difficulty levels to pick from. Modifiers are optional settings that make the run harder on top of the chosen difficulty, so new players should leave them off. Once those choices are made, the run begins.
- Pick a class Knight and Ranger are free from the start, so use one of those for your first run.
- Choose difficulty start at the lowest level and only move up when a run feels comfortable.
- Skip modifiers leave them off until you have cleared at least one full run.

Classes and what they do
TipsThere are 21 classes in total. You start with Knight and Ranger free. Others can be unlocked by spending Nekoins in the shop, reaching certain clan levels, levelling up, or completing events. Each class changes your stats, weapons, abilities, and passive bonuses.
- Knight boosts melee damage by 20%, which is strong early but harder to rely on at high difficulties.
- Demolitionist costs 100 Nekoins and adds 35% bonus damage to explosive weapons — one of the cheapest unlocks and a solid beginner choice.
- Darkhearted is a high-risk pick: its Dark Channel ability costs 50% of your health in exchange for 0.4x extra damage, and its passive can enchant weapons to heal you on hit and on kill.
- Gladiator is locked behind having a level 5 or higher clan and trades speed for extra health and a team buff item.
- Shocker gets the EMP Capsule, a class-exclusive grenade with infinite uses that is best for crowd control rather than raw damage.
- Scarecrow is obtained through an event, so keep an eye on seasonal content if you want it.
Biomes you will run into
CheckThe map is random each run, meaning you are not guaranteed to see every biome in a single playthrough. Each biome has its own badge, which you earn simply by having that area appear in your run.
- Mystic Forest
- Toxic Wasteland
- Freezing Tundra
- The Underworld
Bosses and how to approach them
TipsDefeating a boss earns you its badge. Regular bosses include MechaCat, Drivebass, Electrizer, Vanguard, Zilyx, Mothership, Archseer, Plague Doctor, Deathspeaker, and Astaroth. Seasonal bosses — PumpKing, the Sacred Angel, and the Deathwalker from Halloween 2026, plus Krampus from Christmas 2025 — are only available during their events.
- Deathspeaker fires large numbers of projectiles you can deflect back; use that to preserve your healing items for tougher moments.
- Do not rely on deflected projectiles as your main damage source against Deathspeaker — they rarely connect with the boss itself.
- Seasonal bosses are tied to limited-time events, so jump in during the event window rather than waiting.
- Darkhearted players can activate Dark Channel just before a boss fight, then enter with the damage boost while health regenerates from the corruption enchantment.
Clans and the benefits of joining one
TableA clan holds up to 25 players. Creating one costs Nekoins. Members earn 50 Nekoins each time they contribute enough to a clan quest. The clan itself gains perks as it levels up.
| Level 1 | no bonus yet |
| Level 2 | 5% extra experience |
| Level 3 | 10% extra experience |
| Level 4 | 15% extra experience |
| Level 5 | 20% extra experience plus the Gladiator class becomes available to all members |
Perks worth knowing
WarnPerks are equippable bonuses that sit alongside your class. Choosing one that overlaps with what your class already does is a common mistake.
Titles and long-term goals
TipsTitles are part of the customisation system and are earned through specific actions. Some are quick wins; others take serious commitment.

- Nine Lives means reaching nine total lives in a single run.
- The 24/7 title rewards playing for a cumulative 24 hours or more in Nekocity.
- Competitor, Brawler, and DOMINATOR come from finishing in the top spots on the Weekly Nekoins leaderboard.

Common questions
FAQWhich class should I pick first?
Knight and Ranger are free and available from the start, so begin with one of those. Once you have 100 Nekoins, Demolitionist is the cheapest unlock and deals strong damage with explosive weapons.
Can I miss seasonal bosses permanently?
Seasonal bosses like PumpKing and Krampus are tied to specific event periods, and their badges confirm they appeared during Halloween and Christmas events. Play during the event window to be sure you can fight them.
Does the Evil Flute scale with my class damage bonus?
No. The Evil Flute is treated as an item rather than a weapon, so it cannot be enchanted and does not benefit from your damage multiplier. Its damage stays flat at 50 no matter how far into a run you are.
