About

Overview

7 Days as a Pet is a horror-adventure game where you play as a house cat or dog trying to survive a full week under the care of your owner, Marnie. Your choices during the day and especially at night shape which ending you reach and which of the 25 badges you unlock.

The basic loop: days, nights, and endings

Step
In short Completing your daily tasks is straightforward; what you do each night is what separates the endings.

Each in-game day asks you to carry out tasks as a pet. When night falls, events and strange situations start happening, and the choices you make during those moments stack up toward the ending you get at the end of the week. The game now spans three full weeks of story, so there is a lot to work through across multiple runs.

  1. Work through tasks clear whatever the game asks of you during the day to push time forward.
  2. Watch the night carefully most badge conditions are tied to specific nighttime moments, so pay attention to anything unusual.
  3. Replay with different choices endings change based on your actions, so a second or third run lets you chase different badges and story outcomes.

Endings worth chasing

Table
In short The Good Pet ending demands a perfect week; Okay Pet rewards you just for finishing.

Two of the clearest ending-linked badges point to very different levels of effort.

Okay Petreach the end of the week regardless of how many corners you cut.
Good Petdo everything right each day and then choose the one who sneezes at the end of the week.
Dear Diarycollect every page of Marnie's diary across the week, then finish it.
Best Friendssleep in Marnie's lap every night starting from Day 3 onward.
Pet Pileshare a sleep spot with others on the final night.
03

Nighttime events and what triggers them

Tips
In short Every strange thing that happens at night is a potential badge trigger, so resist the urge to ignore or skip past them.

Nights are where most of the game's secrets live. Each unusual sound, light, or face is connected to a specific badge condition.

Tips worth knowing
  • If you hear rustling late at night, investigate it — that moment is tied to the Treat Time badge.
  • Follow any moving light you spot; it leads somewhere connected to the Follow the Dot badge.
  • When you see a particular smile directed at you, hold your gaze on it to trigger the Staring Contest badge.
  • If you encounter someone who looks like Marnie but feels off, work out which one is real — that is the condition for Wrong Marnie.
  • Not every warm lap you find belongs to Marnie, and sitting in the wrong one is the condition behind the Wrong Lap badge.
04

Pet behaviors that unlock badges

Check
In short Committing fully and repeatedly to specific pet behaviors — sitting, staring, zooming, fetching — unlocks a whole category of badges.

A large portion of the 25 badges are earned by acting like an actual pet in very specific ways. Some require patience, some require repetition, and some require doing something a lot of times.

  • Squeeze into a small space and stay there for the If I Fits badge commitment to the spot is what matters.
  • Hold completely still for an extended stretch to earn the Loaf badge.
  • Run around wildly at night for the Zoomies badge instead of standing still.
  • Keep playing fetch without stopping to get the Fetch Forever badge.
  • Test gravity by knocking something off a surface repeatedly that is what Gravity Tester asks for.
  • Use the in-game toilet as a cat for Toilet Trained, or drink from it as a dog for Toilet Sommelier.
05

Marnie's diary pages

Warn
In short Missing even one diary page blocks the Dear Diary badge, so search thoroughly every single day.

Marnie keeps a diary, and finding every page before the week ends is a hard requirement for the Dear Diary badge.

Worth watching out for
The Attic is a newer area added in the most recent update, so include it in your sweep.
If you finish the week without all the pages, you will need to replay the badge requires a complete collection plus reaching the end.
06

Some behaviors to watch out for

Warn
In short A few badge conditions look harmless but carry consequences, so go in knowing what you are choosing.

Some of the game's odder moments are traps dressed up as curiosity.

Worth watching out for
Letting a problem sit and grow instead of dealing with it is the condition for It Got Comfortable.
Pressing your nose to the glass to watch something earns Peeping Marnie, and looking up earns Look Up.
Finding a hiding spot with someone already inside it is the condition for Bunk Buddy.
07

Room size and replay value

Summary
In short The game is built for multiple runs, and a full lobby makes certain badges easier to land.

Up to 18 players can share a single session. With three weeks of story now available and 25 badges spread across wildly different conditions, the game is designed to be played several times over.

  • Max players per room 18
  • Total badges 25
  • Weeks of story available 3

Common questions

FAQ

Do I need to find all of Marnie's diary pages in one run?

Yes. The Dear Diary badge requires you to collect every page and then finish the week in the same playthrough. Missing any single page means you will have to start over.

Can I play solo, or do some badges need other players?

The room supports up to 18 players, and at least one badge — Pet Pile — requires sharing a sleep location with others on the last night.
