04
Scoring more goals — attacking tactics
Tips
In short
Combining passes, sprint timing, and smart shooting decisions produces far more goals than solo runs.
The moment you win the ball, look for a teammate before trying to shoot. Patience in attack pays off more than rushing forward alone.
After winning the ball, scan for an open teammate rather than shooting straight away. Use sprint combined with dribble to push past defenders when you have space. Headers are especially useful during corner kicks and free kicks, so position yourself in the box during set pieces. When you tackle the ball back from an opponent, push into a counter-attack immediately. Close to the opponent's goal, check whether a pass creates a better angle before you shoot.
05
Holding your defensive line
Tips
In short
Reading the opponent's movement and holding position beats diving in with early tackles.
Defense wins as many matches as attack does. The biggest mistake defenders make is tackling too early and leaving space behind them.
Wait for the dribbling player to slow down or change direction before committing to a tackle. Keep several teammates between the ball and your goal rather than all chasing the same attacker. When an opponent is sprinting at you, hold back instead of lunging in. Mark opponents who don't have the ball — leaving them free gives the attacking team easy passing options. Treat the area directly in front of your goalkeeper as the highest-priority zone to protect.
06
What to check when you keep losing
Check
In short
Most losing streaks trace back to one or two fixable habits rather than overall skill.
Go through these points after a run of bad results.
Connection stability
a choppy connection causes delayed controls; check your internet before blaming technique.
Positioning
if you're rarely touching the ball, move closer to the play.
Tackle timing
if opponents keep dribbling past you after a tackle attempt, you're going in too early.
Pass accuracy
if your passes aren't reaching teammates, slow down and pick a cleaner line before releasing.
Shot selection
if you're shooting from far out and missing, hold back and get closer or pass instead.
