Halloween Update
Pillar Chase's Halloween Event has arrived! Collect pumpkins and unlock new Halloween skins
Pillar Chase is a multiplayer horror game where one or two players become a monster and everyone else tries to survive and escape. Survivors complete tasks to open the exit while the monster hunts them down. This guide covers how both sides play, how maps work, how to earn coins, and what achievements you can unlock.
At the start of each round, one or two players become the monster and the rest are survivors. Survivors win by finishing all objectives and running through the exit before time runs out. The monster wins by killing everyone or stopping the escape. A timer runs the whole match, so neither side can afford to sit still.
Survivors complete objectives by holding the interact key near task objects. Each map has its own set of tasks, but some mechanics repeat across maps. Finishing a full set of objectives earns extra coins, shaves time off the clock, and adds one monster chance for the round.

Monsters use abilities rather than objectives, and those abilities vary widely between characters. Some can place traps, some can teleport, some can highlight survivors. The only monster with no abilities at all is the Zombie. Your stamina bar recharges through certain abilities, unlike survivors who have to wait it out. Use your level display and EXP bar, shown in the status panel at the bottom left, to track your progression toward ranked cosmetic skins.
Pillar Stronghold is the current version of this map in Pillar Chase, while The Pillars is the legacy version. Both share the core idea of a large spaceship full of narrow corridors and pillars. Objectives on Pillar Stronghold involve cleaning vents and collecting energy panel parts; The Pillars uses nine buttons and four vents. The map is relatively bright, so you can spot the monster coming from a distance.
| Survivors | use pillars to break a chasing monster's line of sight, especially against dash-type monsters |
| Survivors | when doing vents, stay aware because abilities like Boulder Toss can catch you mid-task |
| Monsters | set traps in corridors and near vent or button locations to catch objective-focused survivors |
| Buttons | same 15-damage red-flash rule applies here as on every other map with buttons |
Pillar Drainage System is compact and bright, with a central area and four identical side corridors. Decrepit Sewers is darker and tighter, inspired by the 2013 horror game Vanish, with cramped tunnels above and waist-deep water below. Completing all four valves on PDS lowers the water level, making it easier to spot traps that were previously hidden. On Decrepit Sewers, finishing the Valves Shut Off task removes the pipe damage that was slowing your team down.
| Survivors on PDS | use the central cross-shaped tunnels to change direction and lose chasers |
| Survivors on PDS | after all four valves are turned, look at the newly exposed floor for traps |
| Survivors on Sewers | check underwater for gears and for the Fire Axe, as both can spawn there |
| Monsters on PDS | monsters spawn above the rest of the map, so move fast at round start to catch survivors off guard |
| Monsters on Sewers | monsters that can block off areas or gain vertical distance have a strong advantage here |
The Practice Area is a small campsite map with dummy targets for the monster and a Robo-Oni dummy for survivors. Because the dummies have no real behaviour, some ability interactions work differently than they would in a real round.
Coins are earned by both survivors and monsters during normal play. As a survivor, exploring the map, completing objectives, freeing trapped survivors, and ending a chase all add to your coin meter. As a monster, dealing damage, killing survivors, and winning rounds do the same. Levelling up is mainly cosmetic, unlocking ranked skins for monsters at levels 10, 20, 55, and 100.
There are three achievements earned inside Pillar Chase itself, plus collab achievements tied to other Roblox games. Completing the Dogwatching 3 collab achievement unlocks the Twilight skin for Springtrap. Completing the AOONI Nightmare collab achievement unlocks animated skins for Ao Oni and Fuwatti. The first achievement ever added to Pillar Chase was Doom Approaches.
Monster chance builds up when completing a set of objectives, surviving a round, or starting a new round. The player with the highest monster chance at the start of a round takes the role, and their chance resets. If two players are tied, one is picked at random.
Buttons cycle between flashing blue and red. Pressing one while it shows red deals 15 damage. Wait for the blue flash before interacting, and you will complete the task without taking any damage.
Yes. Open the moveset or information screen for that monster and tap the cap icon above the information button to enter the Practice Area.
If you are still in the match when the escape window closes, you earn the Locked In achievement. Survivors who make it through the exit before that point earn Free.. For now... instead.
One collab achievement, Frostbitten from Lemon Funky, became unobtainable when that game was taken down. The two currently active collab achievements — Petrichor from Dogwatching 3 and Welcome from AOONI Nightmare — are still earnable as of now.
