Getting started: boat, materials, gear

Step

When a session begins, you have no boat and no equipment — you build both from scratch. Head into the wasteland to collect wood and ore, then use the crafting system to turn those resources into weapons and armor.

Eruptions happen during play and send lava flooding across the map. Your boat floats on lava, making it the safest place to be when an eruption hits.

Worth watching out for

If you spot signs of an eruption while exploring, start heading back to the boat right away.

Check your boat's position regularly on long exploration runs so you always know the route back.

Make sure your whole group is ready to move the moment an eruption signal comes.
