Abyss World Guide: How the lives system works
About
OverviewAbyss World is an obby on Roblox where you jump your way down through 16 levels, starting at a windy mountain town and pushing toward the depths below. The game has a lives system — lose all your lives and you lose most of your progress. This guide covers how each zone changes as you descend, how to protect your lives, and what permanent unlocking means for your run.

How the lives system works
WarnThe main mode gives you a set number of lives. When the last one is gone, most of your progress resets. The game does offer ways to permanently unlock things, which protects you from that harsh reset.

The 16 levels and what changes between them
SummaryThe descent is split into distinct zones that shift the look and feel of the course. Early levels are bright and open; by the middle stretch sunlight is gone and water, plants, and critters appear; the final levels lead through crumbling gates into icy and rain-soaked depths.
- Levels 1–2 sunny and windswept, a relatively gentle start from the mountain entrance
- Levels 3–5 mineral-rich stone where sunlight fades out completely
- Levels 6–9 water and unfriendly creatures appear; large plants fill the gaps
- Levels 10–12 crumbling structures and glowing flora mark the deep middle section
- Levels 13–14 the World Gate zone, where the ground itself crumbles around you
- Levels 15–16 frozen and rain-drenched depths with ancient history scattered throughout

Which part of the descent has crumbling ground?
Levels 13 and 14 are described as having crumbling land on the final route to the World Gate.
