How a round works

In short
Every round starts with a random role assignment, and everything you do from that point should follow from the goal that role gives you.
At the start of each round, the game hands every player a role at random. Each role comes with its own special ability, so the first thing to do is check what you have. From there, your goal and your moment-to-moment decisions are completely different depending on which side you land on.
- Check your role read the ability attached to it before you do anything else.
- Learn your goal murderer-type roles have you tracking down other players, while innocent-type roles have you surviving or identifying the killer.
- Use your ability special abilities can be used multiple times during a round.

The role roster

With more than 15 roles split across different categories, you will play a noticeably different game every round.
Roles fall into three broad groups. Because the assignment is always random, you cannot plan which group you will be in.

Building your collection

Playing consistently is the straightforward way to pick up items and skins over time, with events offering access to rarer pieces.
The game has rare items and unique skins to collect on top of the core gameplay. Rarer items are harder to obtain, and some are only available for a limited time.
Tips worth knowing
- You earn rewards simply by participating in rounds.
- Rarer items take longer to obtain than common ones.
- Skins change how your character looks but do not affect how roles or abilities work.
- Event periods are the only window to pick up items you cannot get any other time.

Making the most of events
WarnIn short
Event items disappear when the event ends, so playing actively while one is live is the only way to get them.
The Halloween event opens on October 8th and brings items that will not be available after it closes. Events like this are the only time certain items enter the game, and once the window closes they are gone.
Worth watching out for
Event items cannot be obtained after the event period ends
there is no second chance.
Playing multiple rounds during an event increases how many event rewards you can collect.
