Ride A Pet — Your first egg
About
OverviewRide A Pet is an open-world Roblox game where you collect eggs across the map, hatch them into pets, and use those pets both as mounts and as income generators back at your ranch. Rarer, faster pets help you reach rarer eggs, so the loop of hatching, riding, and ranching feeds itself. This guide walks you through that loop from your very first egg all the way to mutations, hatched mutations, and rebirth.

Your first egg — the basic loop
StepEvery run follows the same cycle: leave the ranch, find an egg, bring it back before the countdown expires, place it in a nest, dismount, and hatch it. The key mistake new players make is exploring too far before they know the way home. Start by memorising where your ranch and its nests sit, then look for eggs close by.
- Learn the layout find your named ranch and the nests inside it before going anywhere else.
- Mount up select a pet and use the Ride action to start moving around the map.
- Search nearby walk the area around your ranch first so the trip home stays short.
- Pick up and head back the moment you grab an egg a countdown starts, so take the most direct route home.
- Place and hatch set the egg in an open nest, dismount, then complete the hatch action to receive your new pet.
Warnings about egg timers and basket limits
WarnThe game surfaces two critical messages while you are carrying eggs. A third control, Drop, is nearby and easy to trigger by mistake.
Radar types and how to use them
StepRadars are sold at the Gears shop in the centre of the map. Buying one does nothing on its own; you must equip it from your inventory and then activate it before it shows you any egg directions. Standard radars are single-use and track for five minutes. Higher-tier radars target rarer eggs and cost significantly more.
- Buy an Advanced Radar costs 50 in-game cash, tracks Rare-tier eggs.
- Buy a Jewel Radar costs 3,000 in-game cash, tracks Epic-tier eggs.
- Buy a Royal Radar costs 20,000 in-game cash, tracks Legendary-tier eggs.
- Buy an Eternal Radar costs 30,000,000 in-game cash, automatically detects high-Luck eggs like the Blackhole Egg and Cherub Egg anywhere on the map.
- Equip and activate open your inventory, equip the radar, then use the activation control to start tracking.
Ranch income and pet feeding
CheckEvery pet you place in the ranch generates cash. Feeding pets with food items purchased from the stands at the centre of spawn grants them XP, which raises their age and increases how much money they produce. The age cap is 100. The Place Best option can help you decide which pets to put out.
- Place every newly hatched pet in the ranch rather than leaving it in your inventory.
- Collect cash from your ranch pets each time you return from an egg run.
- Feed pets food items to raise their age and increase their cash output, up to the age cap of 100.
- Check the Index for any Claim rewards tied to pets you have already collected.
- Enable auto-purchase on food once you have reliable income so pets level up without manual shopping.
Food items and XP values
TableAll five food items are sold at the stands in the centre of spawn. Open your pet inventory, select the pet you want to feed, then use the food item while riding that pet or while it is in the ranch.
| Food | Price | XP Granted |
|---|---|---|
| Grass | $10 | 500 XP |
| Bone | $1,500 | 10,000 XP |
| Meat | $30,000 | 100,000 XP |
| Magic Apple | $7,000,000 | 300,000 XP |
| Dragonfruit | $30,000,000 | 1,000,000 XP |
Weather mutations and how to earn them
TableA weather event fires server-wide, and during the corresponding storm any pet placed in your ranch or currently being ridden can receive a weather trait. Pets sitting idle in your inventory are not eligible. Each pet holds one weather trait at a time; a higher-ranked trait overwrites a weaker one, but a weaker trait can never overwrite a stronger one.
| Eternal | 12.5× cash and speed, the strongest weather mutation available. |
| Void | 7× cash and speed. |
| Magma | 10× cash and speed, obtained by dipping an egg into the volcano with a 15% success chance. |
| Rage | 4× cash and speed. |
| Volted | 3× cash and speed. |
| Shocked | 2× cash and speed. |
Magma mutation — the volcano method
TipsThe Magma mutation is earned in a completely different way from other weather traits — you dip a carried egg into the volcano yourself rather than waiting for a storm.
- You can only attempt the volcano dip once per egg.
- Success chance is 15%, and a successful dip adds 8 seconds to the egg's remaining countdown.
- On a failure (85% chance) the egg is returned to your hand but loses 5 seconds from its countdown.
- A successful Magma mutation gives 10× cash and speed.
Hatched mutations — Gold, Diamond, and Rainbow
SummaryHatched mutations are separate from weather traits and are awarded randomly when you open an egg. They increase a pet's money and speed multipliers independently of any weather trait the pet also carries.
Hunting the Blackhole Egg
TipsThe Blackhole Egg carries a Luck value of 100,000,000,000 and is classed as Ethereal rarity, guaranteeing a Legendary or better pet on hatch. All players on the server see the spawn notification at the same moment, so speed matters.
- Keep an Eternal Radar in your hotbar so it detects high-Luck eggs automatically no matter where you are on the map.
- Use a flying pet to gain height — the dark glow of the Blackhole Egg is easier to spot from above.
- Check the red barn first by entering through the door and looking in every small room.
- Cross the bridge between the Gear shop and the Truck shop and search above and below it.
- Scan the waterfall area, including the water itself and the cave zones nearby.
- Search the Giant Tree top, its interior, and the wooden station around it, then check the desert pyramid's openings and the pool entrance last since the maze inside takes the most time.

Common questions
FAQI bought a radar but nothing is pointing me to eggs — what did I miss?
Purchasing a radar is only the first step. Open your inventory, equip the radar, then use the activation control — the direction indicator only appears after all three steps. Standard radars are single-use and last five minutes.
I made it back to the ranch but cannot hatch my egg — why?
Carrying an egg and hatching it are separate actions. Place the egg into an open nest, then dismount your pet, and finally perform the hatch action.
When should I rebirth for the first time?
You need a Horse in your possession and one million in-game cash. Before you confirm, be aware that your cash and any Hatch Luck you have purchased will be wiped. Hold onto your Horse rather than selling it.
How do I make sure my pet gets a mutation during a weather event?
The pet must either be placed in your ranch or be the one you are currently riding when the storm fires. A pet sitting in your inventory will not receive a weather trait. A stronger trait replaces a weaker one, but a weaker trait can never overwrite a stronger one.
What do K, M, B, T, Qa, and Qi mean next to cash amounts?
They are shorthand for large numbers: K means one thousand, M means one million, B means one billion, T means one trillion, Qa means one quadrillion, and Qi means one quintillion. The one million cash needed for your first rebirth is written as 1M in the game.
Can a pet have both a weather trait and a hatched mutation?
Yes. A pet can hold one weather trait and one hatched mutation at the same time.
Can I play on a phone or tablet?
Yes. The game supports desktop, console, mobile, and tablet players.
