How the sledgehammer controls work

Step
In short Every move you make comes down to two things: how fast you move and which direction you move.

The sledgehammer is the only tool you have, and it responds entirely to your mouse or finger. Moving in a circle changes the hammer's height based on how fast you go, and the direction you move sets where the hammer points. The core technique is hooking the hammer onto something solid and then pulling your body up with it.

  1. Speed up to lift if you need the hammer higher, speed up your circular motion.
  2. Aim with direction the angle you move your mouse or finger decides where the hammer faces.
  3. Hook before pulling get the hammer firmly caught on an object, then use that grip to haul yourself upward.

Dealing with falls

Tips
In short Falls are built into this game, and your progress survives every single one of them.

The game openly describes itself as challenging and frustrating, so a fall is not a failure state — it is just part of a run. Your progress, including every mistake, is saved automatically. There is no reason to quit after a bad fall.

Tips worth knowing
  • Nothing resets when you fall — the game saves your progress continuously, mistakes included.
  • Reaching the top once is the first milestone, but the long-term goal goes all the way to fifty completions.

Badge progression

Table
In short Every badge is earned purely by reaching the top more times, with the final one hidden until you hit fifty.

There are six badges in total. Each one unlocks automatically once you have reached the top the required number of times — there is nothing else to do except keep climbing.

Extra modes in the game

Tips
In short Four alternate modes give the same mountain climb a different feel without changing the core goal.

Beyond the standard version, four modded takes on the climb are included. Each one keeps the same objective — reach the top — but changes the tool or ruleset you use to get there.

Tips worth knowing
  • Sticking Over It
  • Pogo Over It
  • Getting Over It but with huge hammer
  • Getting Over It but with Shot

Common questions

FAQ

Do I start over from scratch when I fall?

No. The game saves your progress automatically, and that includes every mistake you make. Falling sends you back down the mountain, but it does not wipe anything you have built up.

How do I unlock all the badges?

Reach the top of the mountain repeatedly. The badges unlock at one, five, ten, twenty, thirty, and fifty completions.

What is the secret final badge?

Its name is hidden and shows only as ??? until you reach the top fifty times. Once you hit that milestone it unlocks automatically, just like every other badge.
