Core events and how to survive them

Tips
In short Each event has a different correct response, so acting fast and knowing what to do is what separates a good outcome from a bad one.

The core can hit several dangerous states during a session.

Tips worth knowing
  • When a meltdown starts, shut it down before it explodes — success earns the Shutdown Success badge.
  • If the core does explode, survive it to earn Bunker Down; dying from the exploding core earns Burnt to a Crisp instead.
  • During a freezedown, avoid freezing to death — surviving earns the Freezedown badge.
  • Stay well clear of any powerful laser in the facility; touching one disintegrates you.
  • During a radiation leak, fix as many glass panels as you can — fixing the most panels in the session earns Radiation Repair.
  • When core collapse begins, reach a rocket or helicopter: making it onto a rocket earns Rocket Escape, a helicopter earns Helicopter Escape, and getting caught by the black hole earns Spaghettified.
03

Alien invasion event

Table
In short Both invasion outcomes give you a badge, so you need to play the event twice if you want both.

The facility can come under alien invasion. The event has two possible outcomes, and each one gives a different badge.

04

Badges that need public servers

Warn
In short Three badges are permanently locked in private servers, so only attempt them in public sessions.

Three badges require a public server specifically.

Worth watching out for
Amazing Employee cannot be earned in a private server.
Beat 90% cannot be earned in a private server.
Beat 99% cannot be earned in a private server.
05

Earning Amazing Employee

Check
In short This badge demands real patience — you must stay connected in a public server from in-game day one noon to day three noon without leaving.

Amazing Employee requires being present in the same public server from in-game day one noon to day three noon.

  • Join a public server private servers block this badge completely.
  • Be present from in-game day one noon joining late means you have already missed the starting point.
  • Stay connected until in-game day three noon.
06

Order versus chaos

Summary
In short Neither path locks you out of content — pick whichever style of play you enjoy most.

Running the facility well is only one option. The game gives you a genuine choice between maintaining order and letting chaos reign supreme, and both paths keep the session going.

  • Order keep the facility stable.
  • Chaos let chaos reign supreme.
07

Self-destruct ending

Tips
In short The self-destruct sequence offers its own pair of outcomes.

The facility has a self-destruct ending that hands out its own badges depending on whether you escape or not.

Tips worth knowing
  • If you are caught in the self-destruct blast you earn the Nuked badge.
  • Reaching a helicopter before the self-destruct fires earns Helicopter Escape.

Common questions

FAQ

Why can't I earn Amazing Employee, Beat 90%, or Beat 99%?

All three badges are disabled in private servers — only public servers count. For Amazing Employee specifically, you also need to have been present from in-game day one noon and stay until day three noon without leaving.

How do I get both the Alien Exterminator and Invaded! badges?

Each badge comes from a different outcome of the same event, so you cannot get both in one run. Play the alien invasion twice — win it once and lose it once — to collect both.

What happens if I miss the rocket or helicopter during core collapse?

If you are still in the facility when the black hole fully forms, it pulls you in and you earn the Spaghettified badge.
