Quiet or Die — How a round works
About
OverviewQuiet or Die is an asymmetrical horror game where one player becomes the Blind Seeker — a killer who cannot see but can hear everything — while everyone else tries to hide and survive for two minutes. This guide covers how both roles work, how to stay alive as a survivor, and how to find players as the Blind Seeker.

How a round works
SummaryAt the start of each round, one player is assigned the Blind Seeker role and the rest become survivors. The Blind Seeker cannot see, but every footstep, whisper, or collision gives away a survivor's position. Survivors win if they stay alive for two minutes; the Blind Seeker wins if all survivors are knocked down before time runs out.
- Roles one Blind Seeker versus all other players as survivors
- Seeker's ability cannot see, but hears every sound survivors make
- Survivor goal last two minutes without being knocked out
- Seeker goal knock down every survivor before the timer ends
- Round end if all survivors are downed, the game ends immediately and the Seeker wins
Surviving as a survivor
TipsSurvivors need to balance staying silent with reacting to what the Seeker is doing. The moment you make noise, you risk being tracked down, so think before you move. Knowing what gives your position away — and what your abilities actually do — keeps you in the round longer.
- Pressing E (or the Speak button on mobile) makes your character emote and earns you 25 Cash, but it also puts a red highlight on you that lasts the whole emote, showing the Seeker exactly where you are.
- The emote ability has a 20-second cooldown, and if your highlight is already showing when you try to emote, the emote won't play but the cooldown still triggers.
- Looping — running circles around a large structure — can waste the Seeker's time and protect other survivors who are hiding, though the Seeker moves slightly faster than a survivor, so switch paths before they close in.
Getting knocked down and reviving teammates
StepWhen the Blind Seeker hits you, you drop and a twenty-second countdown starts above your head. You can still move slowly and jump while downed, and other survivors can revive you by holding R for three seconds. The timer keeps running during a revive, so there is real urgency. One important rule: if the Seeker stands close to you, the timer pauses and a NO CAMPING message appears, buying you time for help to arrive.
- Get knocked the twenty-second death timer starts and you can crawl slowly toward teammates.
- Stall near the Seeker if no one is close enough to revive you, crawl toward the Seeker to trigger the NO CAMPING pause on your timer.
- Call for a revive a teammate holds R for three seconds to bring you back; the timer does not stop during this.
- Distract the Seeker if the Seeker is camping a downed teammate, emote to pull the Seeker's attention away, then let a teammate complete the revive.
- Know the risk of a second hit after being revived, a second hit from the Seeker kills you outright with no downed phase; you are sent to the lobby with no win credit and no Cash.
- Survive the round downed if time runs out while you are still downed, you still count as a winner and receive 50 Cash plus a win on the leaderboard.
Cash and the emote ability
TableCash is the in-game currency you earn by playing rounds. Emoting is the main way survivors earn Cash during a round, but it comes with a real trade-off: the red highlight it puts on you is visible to the Seeker for the entire duration of the emote.
| Emote reward | 25 Cash per successful emote |
| Emote cooldown | 20 seconds after each use |
| Highlight duration | active for as long as the emote animation plays |
| Failed emote | if your highlight is already showing, no emote plays but the cooldown still applies |
| Revive reward | 10 Cash for bringing a downed teammate back |
| Survive the round | 50 Cash and a leaderboard win if you are alive (or downed) when the timer ends |

Common questions
FAQWhat happens if I am still downed when the two minutes run out?
You still get credit for the win. You receive 50 Cash and a win is added to your leaderboard count, the same as a survivor who made it through on their feet.
Can the Seeker just stand next to a downed survivor until they die?
No. When the Seeker is within the inner half of the detection radius, the NO CAMPING rule kicks in and pauses the downed player's timer completely. The Seeker has to move away before the countdown resumes.
Is there any penalty for emoting at the wrong moment?
If your red highlight is already visible when you try to emote, the emote does not play — but the twenty-second cooldown still starts. You lose the use of the ability without earning any Cash.
Does being revived protect me from being downed again?
No. After a revive, the next hit from the Seeker kills you outright — there is no second downed phase. You are sent straight to the lobby with no win credit and no Cash.
