Getting started on the map

Step

In short The first minutes are about picking a dinosaur and learning to stay alive before you try anything ambitious.

When you join the game, a selection screen lets you choose which dinosaur to play. Once you confirm your choice, you are dropped onto the map and hunting begins immediately.

Choose your dinosaur pick from the available species on the selection screen before entering the map.
Target small prey first find animals smaller than yourself and focus on them.
Run from bigger threats if a large dinosaur notices you, put distance between you and them right away.
Eat to recover finding and eating food restores your health, so do it regularly.

In short Hunting only prey smaller than you is the safest way to grow in the early game.

Your size and strength increase as your level rises, and each level opens up larger prey you can realistically take on. Trying to fight stronger creatures too soon wastes time and health. Moving to quieter parts of the map where fewer players are hunting lets you grind without interruption.

Only attack creatures that are smaller than you.
When you run into a clearly stronger dinosaur, retreat and find easier prey elsewhere.
Learn where food spots are on the map so you can recover health without wandering too far.
Seek out areas with fewer other players so your hunts go uninterrupted.

Dinosaur types and when to use them

In short Beginners benefit from large, tough dinosaurs, while players comfortable with PvP can get more out of fast, small ones.

Every dinosaur in the game has different strengths. Large carnivores can take more hits and deal heavy damage. Smaller, quicker dinosaurs are harder for enemies to catch but hit with less force. Herbivores are large and hard to kill.

Large carnivores (T-Rex and similar)	high health and strong attacks, good for beginners.
Small carnivores (Raptor and similar)	fast and hard to pin down, suited to players who can handle precise movement.
Herbivores	large bodies and strong survivability, useful for practising without dying constantly.

Winning fights against other players

In short Patience and positioning beat raw aggression in PvP — let opponents make mistakes, then punish them.

Running straight at another player is rarely the best move. Waiting for the right moment gives you a big advantage, and knowing when to retreat keeps you in the game longer. Areas rich in food attract a lot of players, so expect competition there.

Attack an opponent while they are already busy fighting another creature — they cannot give you their full attention.
If you keep dying to the same player, move to a different area of the map instead of re-engaging.
When surrounded by multiple enemies, break away immediately and reset before committing to a fight.
Low-visibility spots make it harder for opponents to spot you first.
Food-rich areas draw crowds — be ready for more PvP there.

Unlocking new dinosaurs and rare species

New dinosaurs unlock as your rank goes up. That means you need to put serious time into one dinosaur, defeating as many enemies as possible, to push your rank higher. Collecting every species in the game is one of the long-term goals that keeps experienced players coming back.

Grind defeats defeat as many enemies as you can with your current dinosaur to push your rank up.
Aim for rare species they appear once your rank is high enough.
Set collecting all species as a long-term goal it gives you a clear target beyond just surviving each round.

What to check when you keep getting beaten

Dying once in a while is normal. Dying in the same spot over and over means something needs to change.

Is your rank significantly lower than the players you are meeting if so, focus on levelling rather than PvP for now.
Are you in a busy area where multiple players can gang up on you quieter zones let you grow more safely.
