First steps after spawning
Step
Your first priority is building tools so you can mine faster and survive longer. Follow any quests that appear — they point you toward the resources you need and pay out items for completing them.
- Break logs to collect wood, then craft wooden tools.
- Dig down to find stone and coal, then swap your wooden tools for stone ones.
- Break leaves for food oak leaves can drop apples, birch leaves drop cherries, and jungle leaves drop bananas, all useful early healing.
- Check your quests the quest chain tells you exactly what to gather next and gives you item rewards for finishing each task.
- Coal is common underground and fuels furnaces for a long time.

Tool and armor tiers
TipsBoth tools and armor share the same five tiers. Climbing the tiers improves how fast you mine and how much damage you can absorb.
- Wooden — weakest starting tier
- Stone
- Iron — required before you can mine amethyst at all
- Golden — matches amethyst for mining effectiveness but has lower durability
- Amethyst — strongest and rarest tier, needed to mine Crimson Stone
Food and healing
TableHold right-click to eat. You cannot restore health with food when your health is above 9 points. Regenberries are the only food that also gives a healing effect over time.

Getting amethyst
CheckAmethyst is the top crafting material in the game. It lets you make the strongest tools, armor, and weapons, and it is one of only two ores that can mine Crimson Stone. There are several ways to find it.
- Mine at the very bottom of the world amethyst ore spawns deep underground and requires an iron or better pickaxe to break.
- Loot the Bastion's third floor a chest there always contains one amethyst alongside Regenectar and a Crimson Spirit.
- Check the Tormentor shrine in the room beneath where the Tormentor spawns, a chest on the right side holds one amethyst.
- Trade with a Trader give a gold block and there is a chance the Trader drops an amethyst.
- Explore floating islands some of them contain amethyst.
Realms and world saving

Ascension and the leaderboard
WarnOnce you have gathered enough amethyst you can Ascend, which is the game's rebirth system. Your inventory is wiped but your Rebirths count is recorded permanently. The leaderboard tracks blocks mined, blocks placed, mob kills, and playtime, and the top three players in each category appear in-game wearing a crown.

Glossary- Ascension
- The game's rebirth system — triggered by collecting enough amethyst, it wipes your inventory but permanently adds to your Rebirths count.
- Crimson Spirit
- A rare item found in the Bastion's third-floor chest (and rarely from Ghouls) that is needed to access the Underworld.
- Crimson Stone
- The material used to complete a portal to the Underworld; can only be mined with an amethyst or mythril pickaxe.
- Realm
- A private server instance that saves your world and lets you invite friends with an invite code.
- Tormentor
- A multi-phase boss in the Underworld that fights alongside Ghouls.
- Regenectar
- An item guaranteed to appear in the Bastion's third-floor chest.
- Gobbler
- A mob that drops blueberries when killed.
- Hotbar
- The row of item slots at the bottom of the screen; the selected item's name appears briefly above the HUD when you switch to it.
Common questions
FAQWhat pickaxe do I need to mine amethyst?
You need an iron pickaxe at minimum — wood and stone pickaxes cannot break amethyst ore. Head to the deepest part of the world to find it.
How do I get to the Underworld?
Crimson Stones can come from Portal Ruins chests, and the Crimson Spirit is found in the Bastion's third-floor chest. Once the portal is active, walk through it.
Why can't I heal with food?
Food cannot restore health when your health is above 9 points. Regenberries provide a healing effect rather than an instant restore.
Is golden gear worth using?
Golden tools mine at the same speed as amethyst tools, but they have lower durability so they break faster.
How do I save my world?
Create a Realm. Realms are private server instances that store your world data.
