About

Overview

Experience Abstraction is a Roblox horror-roleplay game inspired by The Amazing Digital Circus, where your main goal is to resist going insane. This guide covers how sanity works, what threatens it, and how to handle the game's biggest dangers — from abstracted players to Caine himself.

How sanity works

Summary
In short Three things drain your sanity, and knowing all three is the foundation of staying sane.

Sanity is your most important resource. Let it fall too far and you will abstract — losing yourself to the game's central threat. There are exactly three things that eat away at it.

  • Isolation being away from other players drains sanity on its own
  • Darkness staying in dark areas for a long time lowers sanity steadily
  • Abstracted players spending time near someone who has already abstracted will drag your sanity down too

Dangers to watch for

Warn
In short Caine and abstracted players are the two active threats the badges reveal.

Sanity loss is slow and manageable if you play carefully, but Caine and abstracted players create sudden, hard-to-avoid situations.

Worth watching out for
If Caine finds you, he will send you to the cellar
If you hear Caine singing Daisy Bell outside your room, he is very close
An abstracted player can attack you directly, which is different from just being near one and losing sanity passively
If you start seeing things that are not there, your sanity is already dangerously low
A panic attack means your sanity has hit a critical point
03

The keyholder role

Tips
In short Being selected as keyholder gives you power but also puts you in risky situations.

The keyholder is a special role that only one player holds at a time. It comes with unique responsibilities and unique risks.

Tips worth knowing
  • As keyholder, you can unlock other players' rooms
  • Finding an abstracted player behind a door you just opened is a real possibility
  • Exit doors can be encountered in the game
04

Playing with others versus going solo

Table
In short The game can be played alone, but every sanity mechanic pushes you toward playing with at least one other person.

The three sanity drains all get worse when you are on your own. Multiplayer directly counters the core mechanics.

Soloisolation sanity drain is constant with no way to offset it
Groupisolation drain is removed as long as you stay near others
05

Badges and what they reveal about the game

Tips
In short The badge list maps out almost every major event in the game, so knowing it helps you understand what to expect.

There are thirteen badges in total.

Tips worth knowing
  • Going insane and abstracting earns a badge
  • Having your mouth censored by the swear bar is its own badge, which tells you the game actively monitors chat
  • Getting Caine to crash out is one of the outcomes and has its own badge
  • Witnessing the exit door is badge-worthy on its own, suggesting exits are not common occurrences
  • Both keyholder badges require you to be selected for the role, so not every session will give you a chance at them

Common questions

FAQ

Can I play this game by myself?

You can, but isolation is one of the three things that drains your sanity, so solo play puts you at a constant disadvantage.

What is the exit door?

The exit door is rare enough that simply encountering one earns a badge.
