A base with multiple pets spread out, winding paths, and a mix of destructible and indestructible buildings is much harder to raid than a simple open layout.
Your base layout is yours to design freely. Raiders use gear to break through destructible buildings and reach your pets, so how you arrange everything matters a great deal. Mixing buildings that can be destroyed with walls that cannot be destroyed forces raiders to take longer, riskier routes. Spreading your pets apart makes it harder for a raider to grab several in one run.
Tips worth knowing
- Place at least three pets to give your defense real depth.
- Avoid straight-line paths from the entrance to your pets — winding routes slow raiders down.
- Use indestructible walls to block direct routes and funnel raiders into harder paths.
- Keep pets spaced apart so a raider cannot take out more than one in a single push.
- Put your rarest pets in less obvious spots toward the back of your base.

Equipping the right gear and studying the base layout before you move in gives you the best chance of walking out with a stolen pet.
Before you raid, make sure you are carrying gear — gear is what lets you destroy buildings and force a path through someone's defenses. You can buy gear with in-game money, so check the in-game store before your first raid. Even a failed raid is useful, because it shows you where the pets are and how the defenses are set up.
- Gear is equipped before entering an enemy base do not go in empty-handed.
- Scan the base from outside first to spot where the pets are placed.
- Different gear types have different strengths, so match your gear to the buildings blocking your path.
- If one run fails, use what you learned to plan a better route on the next attempt.
- Once you steal a pet, place it in your own base right away to put it to work on defense.
