First steps after waking up

Step

In short A careful sweep of your starting room sets you up for everything that follows.

The moment the game starts, rotate your camera to take in the whole room. Walls, floors, desks, and corners can all hide something useful. Glowing or slightly raised items are worth investigating.

Scan the whole room move your camera slowly around every wall and surface.
Approach every object get close to things on desks and floors to check whether they can be picked up.
Look for glowing items anything that catches the light is worth investigating.
Check the walls some openings only become obvious when you walk up to them.

In short You cannot leave until all five items are in hand, so thorough searching is the whole game.

The goal of MONOCHROME is straightforward: collect four keys and one code, then escape. These items are hidden across different locations throughout the corridor network.

Finish one room completely before moving on leave nothing unchecked.
Retrace your steps through areas you have already visited.
Count what you have collected so you always know how many items remain.
Examine hidden passages and any wall that looks slightly different from those around it.

Staying calm when something feels wrong

MONOCHROME is built around the feeling that something is watching you, and strange sounds or movements are part of that atmosphere.

Worth watching out for

Do not stop searching just because you hear an unsettling sound keep moving through the room.

Take a moment to move your camera around before committing to a direction.

What to check when you are stuck

Check

If you cannot figure out how to move forward, work through this list before assuming you have found everything.

Count your items if you do not have all four keys and the code, at least one is still out there.
Revisit every room you have passed through and check corners and surfaces again.
Study the walls carefully a door or hidden passage can be easy to walk past.
