First steps in the right order

Step
In short Finishing the tutorial before anything else unlocks the code button and sets you up for a strong early game.

The tutorial must be completed before the code-entry button appears, so do not skip it. Once codes are redeemed, you will have experience fruits, balls, and potions ready to go before you even pick a starter. After choosing your starter from one of three eggs, your first major goal is defeating Verdant Valley's opening boss to earn EXP Fruits that speed up leveling considerably.

  1. Complete the tutorial the code-entry button stays hidden until you finish it
  2. Redeem all available codes you receive experience fruits, balls, and potions all at once
  3. Pick your starter choose one egg from the three offered at the start of the game
  4. Defeat Verdant Valley's first boss the EXP Fruits it drops make early leveling much faster

Choosing your starter

Table
In short BlaZpup is the strongest early pick, but all three starters are viable depending on your preferred playstyle.

You choose a starter exactly once, so it is worth a moment of thought. None of the three starters can appear as Shiny or Sparkle variants, so make the decision based on how you want to play rather than collection goals. BlaZpup's fire typing gives you type advantages right away, though an equivalent fire-type can be caught on Lava Crags, the third island, if you change your mind later.

BlaZpup (Fire)rated S Tier; best for players who want to push aggressively and use type advantages from the start
Bubble (Water)rated A Tier; the steadiest choice for newer players who prefer a safer, more forgiving pace
Leafbun (Grass)rated A Tier; suits players who enjoy a tanky, support-oriented style

Early-game priorities

Tips
In short Pour every resource into your starter and hunt hidden chests to push through the level-30 wall as smoothly as possible.

Evo Stones are the rarest resource in the game, so spreading them across your whole team too early will stall your main Evomon's growth. Level 30 is the first significant difficulty spike, and most of your early decisions should be aimed at crossing that threshold. Hidden chests scattered across each area — behind waterfalls, inside caves — give you items without any grinding at all, so exploring thoroughly pays off.

Tips worth knowing
  • Put all evolution materials into your starter until it is fully evolved
  • Search Verdant Valley carefully for hidden chests before committing to a grind spot
  • Use EXP Fruits from boss fights freely — hoarding them slows you down
  • Pick up Evo Stones from the Traveling Merchant's stock, login bonuses, and the battle pass whenever you can
  • Once you hit level 30, establish an XP farming rhythm in Petal Pond before moving further
05

How to redeem codes

Step
In short Codes are case-sensitive and expire without warning, so paste them in as soon as you find them.

The code button only shows up after the tutorial is done — there is no way around that requirement. Because codes distinguish between uppercase and lowercase letters exactly, copying and pasting is far safer than typing them by hand. Each code works once per account, and some expire without any announcement, so redeem them quickly. The official Evomon Discord server is where new codes are announced first.

  1. Finish the tutorial first the interface will not show a code field before that point
  2. Click the gear icon in the top-left corner a settings pop-up will open with a code entry field inside
  3. Paste your code and press OK items land in your inventory immediately
  4. Check the official Discord regularly that is where codes appear before anywhere else

Getting unstuck in battle

Check
In short Type coverage, team level, and healing supplies are the three things to fix before trying a difficult fight again.

Most roadblocks in Evomon come down to one of three problems: you are being hit by types your team is weak to, your Evomons are underleveled for the content, or you ran out of healing items mid-dungeon. If level-30 content suddenly feels impossible, Petal Pond's XP grind loop is specifically where the game expects you to catch up.

  • Type matchups reviewed make sure you are not running a team that shares the same weakness
  • Team level sufficient dungeons expect level 30 or above; lower levels make fights noticeably harder
  • Healing items restocked entering a dungeon with an empty supply is the fastest way to get stuck
  • Evolution resources going to your main Evomon spreading Evo Stones to bench members weakens your carry
  • Skills aimed at type weaknesses picking the right skill each turn matters as much as raw stats
08

Shiny and Sparkle hunting

Tips
In short Patience on a single route and saving your best balls for the moment a rare variant appears is the whole strategy.

Shiny Evomons look noticeably different from normal ones, and Sparkle variants are rarer still. Starters cannot be Shiny or Sparkle, so all hunting happens in the wild. Dry streaks — long runs with no rare sighting — are normal; staying on one route rather than jumping around is the right response.

Tips worth knowing
  • Pick one area where your target spawns and loop the same path repeatedly
  • Save Advanced Balls for the moment a Shiny or Sparkle actually appears — do not spend them on regular catches
  • Hold onto Nature Reroll Potions and Ability Reroll Potions for fully evolved or Legendary-tier Evomons
  • Starters have no Shiny or Sparkle forms — aim all rare hunting at wild Evomons
  • Check the official Discord for rare spawn location reports
09

Endgame and cooperative dungeons

Tips
In short Hit level 30, cover at least three types, and refill your heals before walking into a dungeon.

After level 30, content like Ascension, Subspace Rift, and cooperative dungeons open up. Cooperative dungeons reward you far more efficiently when you bring friends, but solo runs are still possible. EvoLab lets you fuse Evomons using materials from expeditions, quests, and fishing — Jungle and Mountain expedition materials are particularly valuable for fusion. Summon Ruins restock on a cycle of several days, so checking back regularly keeps your materials flowing.

Tips worth knowing
  • Bring DPS, tank, and support roles into dungeons for stable clears
  • Explore Lava Crags actively — it is home to high-rated fire-types, including SS and S Tier individuals
  • Prioritize Jungle and Mountain expedition materials — they are among the most useful fusion ingredients in EvoLab
  • Check the Traveling Merchant and Summon Ruins regularly — both restock periodically and are steady sources of rare materials

Common questions

FAQ

Can free-to-play players get strong Evomons?

Yes. Wild Evomons include S-Tier and A-Tier individuals you can catch without spending anything — Lava Crags, for example, is home to high-rated fire-types available to everyone. Battle pass exclusives sit at the top of the tier list, but cooperative play covers most of the gap, and endgame content is reachable without paying.

Do I have to pick BlaZpup as my starter?

No. BlaZpup's fire typing is helpful early, but an equivalent fire-type Evomon can be caught on Lava Crags, the third island, if you prefer a different starter. Bubble is the most forgiving pick for newer players, and Leafbun suits anyone who prefers a tank or support role.

Why did the game get so much harder around level 30?

Level 30 is intentionally designed as the first major difficulty wall. The way through it is to establish a reliable XP grind loop in Petal Pond while using EXP Fruits from boss fights to push your main Evomon's level up steadily. Gathering evolution materials in Lava Crags at the same time helps strengthen your carry for the content ahead.

Should I use Advanced Balls and reroll potions as soon as I get them?

Hold Advanced Balls until you actually encounter a Shiny or Sparkle — using them on common catches wastes their value entirely. Nature Reroll Potions and Ability Reroll Potions are best saved for fully evolved Evomons or Legendary-tier individuals, since applying them to early-stage creatures before evolution is not an efficient use.

I cannot enter a code — what is wrong?

The code button does not appear until you finish the tutorial, so that is the first thing to check. Once the tutorial is done, open the gear icon in the top-left corner to find the code entry field. Codes are case-sensitive, so paste rather than type to avoid errors.

Do codes expire?

Yes, codes can expire without any prior announcement. Redeem any code you find as soon as possible rather than saving it for later. The official Evomon Discord is the fastest place to learn about new codes and to check whether an older one is still active.
