Overview

Zoo Escape! drops you into a city where escaped zoo animals pull off heists at the Bank, Jewelry Store, and Gas Station while Zoo Guards try to stop them. You can play either side, earn cash from successful robberies, and unlock more of the game's 24 animals. This guide covers both roles, how robberies work, and what it takes to earn every badge.

Choosing a side

Table

In short Your goal flips completely depending on which role you pick.

Every session gives you two options. Animals focus on pulling off heists and banking cash, while Zoo Guards focus on catching criminals and collecting bounties. A single server holds up to 28 players, so both sides will have company.

How a robbery works

Step

In short Grabbing a keycard first opens up secret areas and extra weapons.

Every robbery follows the same basic path.

Steal a keycard use it to access secret areas and weapons inside the target location
Pick a location hit the Bank, Gas Station, or Jewelry Store and carry out the robbery
Escape get to a getaway vehicle and leave the scene before Guards can stop you
Help teammates if a teammate gets caught, break them out of jail or help them snap their rope

Unlocking new animals

Summary

In short Cash from successful heists is what drives your progress through the animal roster.

Every robbery that ends without you getting caught pays out cash. That cash is what you spend to open new animals, each of which brings a different special ability to your next session.

Glossary

Keycard: An item you steal during a heist that unlocks secret areas and additional weapons inside the target location.
Most wanted: A status where being the most-wanted player in a full server triggers the Smooooth Criminal badge.
Rope: The restraint Guards put on you when you are caught; escaping it on your own earns the Cant Catch me! badge.
Bounty: A reward Guards collect by catching escaping animals.
SWAT minigun: A heavy weapon available to Zoo Guards for stopping animal criminals.

FAQ

How do I unlock more animals?

Spend the cash you earn from successful robberies to unlock new animals. There are 24 in total, each with its own special ability.

What happens when I get caught?

A teammate can break you out of jail to get you back in the action. If you manage to snap the rope yourself, you'll also pick up the Cant Catch me! badge.

How do I get the MVP badge?

Collect every other badge in the game and the MVP badge unlocks automatically, along with a secret reward.

Can I play with friends?

A server holds up to 28 players. You can break other animals out of jail when they get caught, or coordinate as Guards to stop the animal crime wave.
